WIP - Crochet - Baby Top/Cardigan

I am debating whether to add sleeves to this or not. I am leaning towards not making them.
For now I'll just think about what buttons to add.
The pattern can be found at Just Crochet or HERE on Ravelry.

Finished Item - Crochet - Framed Hearts Afghan

This certainly was an interesting colour choice that Brodie made.

oops don't look at the very top of the blanket.
I ran out of purple yarn & had to change it

I know I had to frog a few rows every no and then because I wasn't concentrating on the pattern but it did turn out nicely. In fact I am beginning another one in this style but in lighter colours.

WIP - Crochet - Heart to Heart Afghan Part 3

Love, love, love how this is turning out. It looks very effective.
I bought the pattern that is the opposite of this where the heart is made of treble crochet (US DC). It's called Framed Hearts and is from the same designer.

The blanket is wide enough but not long enough. I am thinking it needs at least two more repeats before it is complete. I'll see what it looks like after the next colour.

Finished Item - Knitting - Another Baby Kina

As you may have seen I have been knitting a lot on Baby Kina's recently.
I finished another apple green kina the other day. I am currently making another salmon coloured one.

I thought I would share all of the ones I have completed for now.
I have no idea where they will end up but it's nice to imagine someones baby wearing them.

The pattern for the Baby Kina can be found on Ravelry

WIP - Knitting - Baby Kina

I wanted to use some of my Ice Yarn that I purchased a little while ago but I didn't want to make another blanket using it. I decided that I would give knitting another go. of course it took a while to work out what project to begin. I finally decided on making a short sleeved Baby Kina. It's a paid pattern of Ravelry.
So far so good with the knitting but I believe I need to purchase some longer needles. Either that or some circular ones. I've been eyeing off a set or two on eBay.

It has been awfully warm for the past week and I am struggling with the heat indoors and wanting to knit. It hasn't stopped me but I am leaving it until the evenings when it's been a little cooler.
There were a couple of cooler days but it warmed up again rather quickly. I will be so glad when autumn finally arrives and this indian summer disappears! I need my cooler weather!

I haven't been able to knit for a couple of days. My right wrist and arm have been awfully sore. I'm not sure if it is to do with the exercise group I go to and that I pushed myself hard or it could be the fact that my medication for my arthritis has changed. It could be a possibility that it is both of these things. Either way it has slowed me down.

Crochet Patterns Found On Ravelry

I found some lovely patterns recently and I thought I would share some of them.

This one is a nice cable pattern called Cable Hat by Sarah Arnold.

The one above is a Cabled Ear Warmer by Simone Gattis.

This Snowflake Knit Look Hat is very pretty and is on my every growing to do list.

WIP - Crochet - Under The Sea Blanket - Sea Turtle Applique

Meet Crush the sea turtle (~_o)
Yet another super quick and easy work up with this applique.
It's certainly different to the other turtle pattern from Teri at Knot Your Nana's Crochet.

You can find the sea turtle pattern HERE on Ravelry

WIP - Crochet - Under The Sea Blanket - Seahorse Applique

Here's the seahorse. I couldn't think of a name for this one.
This too was very easy to make up although I think I made the tail far too long.
You can find the pattern HERE on Ravelry

WIP - Crochet - Under The Sea Blanket - Octopus and Great White Shark Appliques

It's Henry the Octopus.
Well, okay it's not Henry from the Wiggles. He's the wrong colour and he doesn't have a hat on but it's the only octopus I could think of that's related to a kids programme or song.
He still looks good though, right?

You can find the pattern HERE on Ravelry.

This is Jaws, the great white shark.
It looks rather round for a shark but at least it looks like a shark!
You can find the pattern for Jaws HERE.

WIP - Crochet - Under The Sea Blanket - Dolphin and Puffer Fish Appliques

I'm not too sure that the dolphin I created actually looks like a dolphin. I think I messed up the placement of the dorsal fin. Oops. Oh well.

You can find the pattern for the dolphin HERE.

The puffer fish however does look like a puffer fish to me.
It's hard to believe that the backgrounds for both of these pieces is the same colour. That's what happens when you photograph one during the day and one in the evening.

You can find the pattern for the puffer fish HERE.

New Pattern Purchase - Knot Your Nana's Crochet - Under the Sea Blanket

I've gone and done it again. I have bought another set of patterns from Teri Heathcote. How could I now? I just LOVE her patterns. They always look amazing.

I knew the patterns was almost near completion. That's why I was making those blanket squares. Which I haven't taken a photo of recently, oops.  They squares are all ready to go. Now all I need to do is make the applique to go on them.
I don't know which square I will like the best but they all look pretty good!

You can find the patterns HERE on Ravelry
Teri has all the patterns in her Ravelry store marked at 25% off.

Finished Item - Crochet - Baby Owl Cocoon

These owl cocoons work up so easily and look amazing when they are completed.
Although I did umm and ahh about making the feather panel for the middle of the cocoon. I believe it looks nice as it is BUT I decided to make the 'feathers' after all.

Here's where you can find the Owl Cocoon pattern

WIP - Crochet - Baby Cocoon

I am taking my time making this one. I'm not too keen on making the panel with what looks like the crocodile stitch. I'm just having problems understanding the pattern.

One of my nieces said the eyes look like they would make a great bikini. I was thinking they would make an amazing sleep mask.

I'm making the largest size that the pattern has. It looks way too big but I am making this for my 5 month old great-great niece. Hopefully I finish it and get it posted over to my niece before
Sienna-Grace gets too big for it.

I need to be able to wrap my head around making the centre panel that has what looks like feathers. I am just struggling with the pattern. It just wasn't making sense to me (o.0)

The pattern I am following can be found HERE on Ravelry

Finished Item - Knitting - Lady Kina

Ta Da! I finished my Lady Kina on Saturday night. I wanted to wear it to Church yesterday.

I wasn't too sure that I would like it when I tried it on. It was the sleeves and how they felt around my arm. However, as the day went on it was fine and it was definitely warm.

I don't particularly like my photo being taken but I thought I had better model this so I could share what it looks like when worn. Thank you Brodz for taking the photos.

I must admit I do look pretty good in these photos though (~_0)
It must be all the weight I have lost. 36 kg (79.36 lb) in total and counting. I have dropped 4 dress sizes and I feel pretty dang good about it.

Anyway, the Lady Kin pattern, it's a freebie, can be found HERE on Ravelry.

Finished Item - Knitting - Baby Kina

I love how this Baby Kina has turned out. It looks so pretty.
This particular piece took up a whole 100g ball of Patons Big Baby Fair Isle yarn.
The pattern can be found HERE on Ravelry.

I originally gave up knitting because of my wrists and the carpal tunnel. To be honest I hadn't really thought about picking up my knitting needles since my operation (almost two years ago). I have found that crochet is so much faster than knitting. However, that being said I may just pick up my needles more often but only for baby stuff, unless I am making something for myself of course.
I am seriously considering making myself a Lady Kina.

I'm Addicted To Collecting Crochet Patterns

Perhaps it might be easier to stop adding more patterns to my collection .. hahaha yeah right as if that is ever going to happen!!

You should see the amazing stuff that I have found on Ravelry. There are so many talented designers out there. I just wish I truly could crochet faster so that I can try out all of these wonderful patterns I have found.

WIP - Crochet - Zoo Blanket - Turtle Appliqué

One more square to go ☺
I am finally getting my crocheting act together.
It still feels like I am going in slow motion though.

WIP - Crochet - Zoo Blanket - Panda Appliqué

I completed this panda last night.
I think it's rather cute. I also think that its odd how some of the faces of the animals I make look completely fine and others look like train wrecks. This one is fine. Oh well I should just keep practising.

You can find the pattern HERE on Ravelry.

WIP - Crochet - Dinosaur Blanket - Triceratops Applique

The lucky last square ☺
All I need to do now is work out the colours for the borders and make them up.
I'm thinking of a darker blue and maybe some red.

You can find the appliqué pattern for the Triceratops HERE on Ravelry.

WIP - Crochet - Dinosaur Blanket - T-Rex Applique

One more square to go now that T-Rex is complete.
It's a shame that my phone doesn't take better photos.
The dinosaur is meant to be red and on a light blue background.
