Bullet Journal - March Spread

In Australia the first day of March signifies the beginning of autumn.
I love the colours of autumn. It's actually my second favourite season ever. Spring being my absolute favourite. Since March starts this week I thought that it was only fitting to use autumn as my theme for the month.

My favourite quote from Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter)

My cover page for March came from a drawing I did using stamps in an app I use on my android tablet called Sketch. I just copied it from that. It's a good program. I've tried drawing on it as well but I am not very good at it. At least not yet.

My future log (above) is pretty much the same layout I used in January. I think it looks much better over two pages rather than squished in to one like I did for February.

I chose the same layout habit tracker for March that I used for Feb. Instead of drawing more leaves at the bottom I used some pretty leaf washi tape that I have. I think it fits in rather nicely with the theme.

WIP - Knitting - Baby Kina

I wanted to use some of my Ice Yarn that I purchased a little while ago but I didn't want to make another blanket using it. I decided that I would give knitting another go. of course it took a while to work out what project to begin. I finally decided on making a short sleeved Baby Kina. It's a paid pattern of Ravelry.
So far so good with the knitting but I believe I need to purchase some longer needles. Either that or some circular ones. I've been eyeing off a set or two on eBay.

It has been awfully warm for the past week and I am struggling with the heat indoors and wanting to knit. It hasn't stopped me but I am leaving it until the evenings when it's been a little cooler.
There were a couple of cooler days but it warmed up again rather quickly. I will be so glad when autumn finally arrives and this indian summer disappears! I need my cooler weather!

I haven't been able to knit for a couple of days. My right wrist and arm have been awfully sore. I'm not sure if it is to do with the exercise group I go to and that I pushed myself hard or it could be the fact that my medication for my arthritis has changed. It could be a possibility that it is both of these things. Either way it has slowed me down.

Yay Autumn Has Arrived

Photo found HERE on pixabay.com

Even though it's now officially autumn I think someone forgot to tell Mother Nature. The weather is going to be on the warm-hot side for the next few days. I can't wait for the crisp mornings and for the leaves to change colours. Knowing my luck that may not happen until the end of March or the beginning of April.

Autumn Colours

There are so many pretty autumn leaves about right now. I took this photo on Sunday when I got out of my car at Church. Look at the beautiful red leaves. That would be an amazing colour for some yarn! So pretty.

It's Officially Autumn!

Today is the official start of Autumn! You know what that means?! I survived another Summer! I really don't like summer. I just hate the heat. it's funny when you're a kid you love it. It means a long school holiday break, lazy days playing with friends, swimming, reading and just having fun! These days it means long HOT days in front of the air-conditioner and horribly high electricity bills! I am so glad that it is now Autumn. I am looking forward to seeing all the pretty coloured leaves on the trees and I know that cooler weather is on its way.

Speaking of cooler weather, it has been so helpful for the firefighters that are still fighting the fire at the coalmine in Morwell/Hazelwood. I cannot believe that today is day 20 and it is still burning. I drove Angus to work placement in Morwell yesterday morning. He starts at 7:30 am. We drive on the freeway right past the open cut mine on the way there. The smoke that is floating up from the pit looked so eerie and it smells horrible. I feel so bad for the people in Morwell who have to put up with this. It is just heart breaking knowing that they have to put up with the smell and smoke again.

The state government has offered families $500 to use towards accommodation if they want to get out of town. Not a lot of help really. It wont stretch very far for families. Get this they are SELLING not giving away masks for residents. I think they should be free for all who want them! I also think that any medical visits that are required as a result of the smoke (there is a lot of carbon monoxide being given off by the fire) should be free too but of course it isn't. It's been THREE weeks Mr Napthine (he's our state premier) get your act into gear and HELP these people. Mr Abbott, for crying out loud pull your finger out and OFFER the WHOLE town of Morwell free doctors visits if their illness is a direct result from the fire and smoke. HELP these people they need it!!

I could stay on this soapbox all day and rant about how bad things are and how little is being done about it but I wont. I'll just pray for more rain and that the firefighters are able to extinguish this fire and declare it safe.

I Survived Summer

 photo ATT121_zps41253d6f.gif
Yay Summer is officially over! Woohoo!
You know what this means... it's Autumn and we will have pretty coloured leaves and cooler weather.
The possibility of super hot weather is rapidly decreasing!
Now I hope I haven't jinxed myself and we end up with a heatwave or something.

It's Autumn

Photobucket

Today is the first 'official' day of Autumn [my second favourite season] and it sure does feel like it too. The sky is overcast & gloomy looking with a bit of rain. The wind certainly makes it feel cooler than it really is. I LOVE it! So long Summer!! Not that it was a very hot summer either *knock on wood* that we don't get many hot days between now & the end of April (it's been known to be hot until then)

I love this picture but cannot for the life of me remember where I got it from. Possibly through one of the yahoo groups I belong to no doubt. If you recognise the artist please let me know so that I can give them the proper credit. Thanks.

I would love to see scenes like this one. With the leaves on the trees looking so colourful & pretty. Although I would HATE to have to clean up the mess from them. It makes me glad that we don't really have any trees in our yard that we have to clean up after.

I'm off to put something on my feet since my toes are feeling a bit cold. I guess this means I will be spending less time running around barefoot. A small price to pay for cooler weather :)

Do you have a favourite season?
