What is it with schools having school closure days all the time? I don't remember my school ever doing that when I was a student. Maybe they did I just don't remember. Angus has the day off school tomorrow, the lucky duck! He's off at a mates place right now having a sleep over. At least he's getting a break from home.
Now we can have all those yummy foods he doesn't like. Thinks like corn, peas, beans and mushrooms! Yum! Silly boy doesn't know what he's missing!!

It's A Kid Free Weekend
I don't know how it happened exactly but the timing was perfect and Mark & I have a kid free weekend. we haven't had a kid free weekend for more than 5 years! I almost don't know what to do with myself. I slept in this morning. There was no arguing, no messy kitchen, no noise. I loved it! And there is one more day like this one!
As for the boys. Brodie is at a respite place having fun. They were going to a disco last night. Today they may be going bowling or fishing. Brodz already said he would rather go bowling. He just phoned me to say that he is cooking dinner tonight & is making ravioli bake. He wanted to know how long & at what temperature the oven needed to be. It's nice to know he will cook but I wish he would do it at home too. Oh well maybe one day.
Angus was meant to be spending tonight with his bestie but his bestie & his Mum were in town last night and wanted to know if he would like to come over early. Of course he jumped at the chance. Why would I stop him from being with his mate. He deserves to have a break from home just as much as Brodz does with his weekend away.
I'm going to go amuse myself for a while. Try and stay cool in front of the air-con it's meant to be a scorcher today and I can feel the yucky heat outside already. Its around 33C (91.4F) and its only just gone midday (+_+) I would hate to think how hot it will be later this afternoon. That being said its never too hot to crochet :D I'll have to share photos of my latest project with you soon.

Silent Saturday
Goodness it is SOOOOOO quiet in my place. Well it was until Angus started singing, which isn't a bad thing really. Angus & I are the only ones at home at the moment. We're having a day all to ourselves!Mark left super early this morning. In fact I didn't even hear him start the motorbike. Mark's going to be a marshal for the MRA Cranbourne GP Run in the lead up to the Moto GP on Phillip Island. It's been quite a few years since he's done that. To be honest it will do him some good to get out of the house. He hardly goes anywhere these days. He's become a real home body!!
Brodie is off to the Armageddon Expo in Melbourne. He caught the train in to Melbourne with a friend from school. He hates travelling on his own & thankfully there were a few kids he knows going so he went with one of them. I'm kind of jealous that he's going. I mean Angus & I could've gone with him but I want him to learn to be more independent, travel on the train & do things on his own. If I keep accompanying him he wont learn .. so... the sacrifices I make as a Mum :P Techinically he isn't on his own he has a school friend (or two) with him. Who would want a parent with them when you have other teens with you?
Angus & I dropped Brodie off at the train station this morning in the next town. That way we could head off to McDonalds to get a couple of bacon & egg muffins for brekky! Nom Nom, they tasted so good!
We also went to the local market today. There were hardly any stalls. You'd be lucky if there was 6-8 stalls all up. I'm thinking that the stall holders were somewhere near Phillip Island. After all that is where I would be if I was selling stuff. The crowds would be HUGE and you would make a packet of money today! Oh well there is always next month.

Long Weekend
Goodness what a weekend. I am so glad that it's over. I've had it up to the eyeballs with the boys fighting. It was really getting to me. I guess the fact that it was rather hot (mid to high 30's) and that the boys were inside for most of the day didn't help. They constantly bickered over just about everything. I was ready to bang their heads together for some peace. Thankfully the cool change came and they disappeared outside after tea.
Roll on Tuesday and back to school for Angus at least. Tomorrow I have to take Brodie to the Monash medical Centre in Clayton for an appointment or he would be at school too. However I would have to take him as he has been suspended from bus travel AGAIN!! The little scamp really must learn to control that potty mouth of his. A neighbour near the bus stop phoned the school to complain about the swearing. Mind you I would love to know how they knew it was Brodie and not some other child!!! I know that he doesn't always have a 'clean' vocabulary but how did they know to blame it on him. I bet he wasn't the only child who was swearing but I can bet that he WAS the only child suspended from Bus travel!!!! Sometimes I truly believe that the pick on him. I just need to be able to prove it!

It's The Weekend Again!
It's one of those days again. The type when you think the weather would be nice but when you go outside you feel the bite of the sun, it's getting rather warm out there. It's also the type of weekend where you want to bash your head against the wall because your oldest is in one of his moods again!!
I don't know. I still feel a bit down of late too. I'm just not interested in doing the things I normally do. I've not been to applique for over a month now and I was so interested in completing the Noah's Art quilt but right now I don't even know if I will even look at it again.
Tomorrow is Sunday and you know what that means. It's Church. I don't even feel like going to that let alone preparing the lesson for Nursery. I just no longer wish to do that either. I think I need to talk with the Bishop about it and let him know that I don't want to do my calling any more. I know that Brodie is looking forward to going again. I'm not too sure about Angus though. He complained last time that it was too boring for him and that is why he doesn't do the right thing in class.
Even typing this blog seems too much at the moment. Doing the washing, the dishes, anything really. Maybe it's because I am dreading going to Dad's for Christmas. I honestly don't want to be there for two weeks. The only reason why I will be there that long is because its Dad's 80th birthday on January 7th. He wants me to be there for it as my sisters Vicki and Julie want to give him a party. He's rapt and when I spoke to him on the phone last night he was even giving the count down to his birthday. He's almost like a little kid again!
I suppose I should go and check the washing machine. I think it's finished its load now.

The Weekend .. .. ..
Golly Gosh this 'new' washing machine is certainly getting a work out. I've washed every day since I got it. I swear the boys hide their dirty clothes (Mark included) and only bring them out once I have done a load of washing or have emptied the clothes baskets. Oh well guess that will never change. I tell you what though the washing machine washes really well. I'm impressed and grateful that we got such a good bargain!
We've spent a quiet weekend at home. Not doing all that much but I think we need weekends like this. It was nice to actually stay home and read the paper, surf a bit, play games and just relax. The boys even managed to watch tv for a bit rather than just play the play station or be on the computer. It made a pleasant change for them too I think because they watched a couple of good movies. I still try and get them to go outside and ride their bikes but they never seem to be interested. The lazy little rascals!!
Tomorrow we take Trip to the vets to get his stitches out. He's hardly been moving about at all except for today. He's been keeping himself hidden away in the carry case. Mainly to keep away from Saqarra and the boys I think. Saqarra can be such an annoying thing when she wants to be and we all know that Trip just wants to be left alone. Today was the first time Trip didn't spend all day in the carry case and it was the first time since we've brought him home that he wanted to go outside. Not that we let him though, he is way too vulnerable to go outdoors again. He still isn't even attempting to put any weight on his leg. And seeing him run on two legs surely is a sight to see. He is amazing!

.. .. This Weekend .. ..
I didn't do a lot this weekend. Well in my view it wasn't much. Yesterday Mark went to foodbank with our neighbour. I don't know if I have ever explained foodbank before. I don't think I have. It's run by a church in the next town from us. Basically we pay $5 each time we visit and we get groceries in return. Sometimes we get a large variety and other times we don't. It kind of balances itself out but it also depends on what is in season and what foods that the church can purchase from 'foodbank' in Melbourne.
The boys and I stayed home. In fact it was nice to be able to stay at home and not have to go out at all. I spent a lot of time doing the washing, sorting out my blogs, playing cards & doing some applique. I'm still making my Christmas presents at the moment.
Last night I was all set to watch Iron Chef. I love that show and I always look forward to watching it. But it wasn't on :-( I know it isn't made any more but it was entertaining and definitely had some weird food being cooked. It's not on for the next few weeks so I guess it will be movie (well dvd) night for a while.
I was a good girl yesterday also and planned my Nursery lesson for this week, it's prepared in the book but I simplify it for the little ones. It was kind of appropriate I think for me and the boys, well Mark too. It was on Family Prayer (LDS.org) and praying as a family. The lesson went really well today too which is always a bonus. The kids are just too cute!
I;m going to have to get off this thing. I knew I shouldn't have started this post when the boys were still up. I need to go and bang their heads together to stop them from fighting. Either that or throw a bucket of cold water over them!! The Rats!!!!!

My Weekend!
It wasn't a very exciting weekend but its still one step closer to the boys going back to school! Woohoo!! Not that I am counting or anything (yeah right!!!) only 3 sleeps to go!! Yay! I survived another lot of school holidays and that IS saying something!!
Yesterday we went to foodbank. It was the first one back for the year. It was nice to see some of the older ladies again. And the boys liked going. One of the ladies has a real soft spot for the boys. She will quite often give them something extra to take home.
This morning it was just the boys and I at Church again. Mark wasn't feeling too well. I was a bit surprised that the boys were reasonable well behaved today. However I am a bit concerned that the little dude keeps disappearing from his lessons. Last week he did the same thing. I am sure that he is only doing this when Mark is not with us. Next week I will have to take him to his class first before I go into nursery.
You should see all the little ones in nursery. They can be so cute!
We actually left Church today not long after all the lessons and classes were finished. It made a big difference, considering last week we didn't get home until after 3 pm. This week we made it home by 2 o'clock.
Tonight I've actually watched a bit of one day cricket. We're not doing too back against the kiwis. Mind you I am only watching the cricket because there is nothing else worthwhile watching on TV. I cannot wait until the rating season starts (from tomorrow actually) when we will be getting some of my old favourites back on TV and some new shows too.
I don't think the boys have minded that there hasn't been much on TV to watch They are happy watching videos and DVDs or playing the play station.

Dare I say it? ... I had a quiet weekend!
I don't believe it I've had a relatively quiet weekend. To which right now I think I have jinxed by saying this.
The big fella has hardly been home ALL weekend. He went to a Young Men's activity on Friday night and came home at around 10 p.m. He went out yesterday morning around 10 a.m. to another Young Men's activity and then went to stay with a family from the Church last night.
It has been so peaceful and quiet without the fighting and carry on that normally happens over the weekend. I have really enjoyed the break.
The little dude and I spent some quiet time just talking and watching some DVD's.
We finally caught up with the big fella at the chapel this morning. We ran late today though. It seems that Lily does NOT like having her car door slammed by the little dude and we couldn't shut the door at all. Thankfully Mark was able to ask one of the neighbours up the road for something to do with the bolts in the door and he managed to finish fixing it rather quickly. We just got to the Church as the first hymn was being sung.
The big fella said he didn't get much sleep last night because he had an upset stomach. He didn't look one hundred percent but he said that he didn't want to go home yet so we stayed. Which was good because I didn't want to go home early anyway. I don't have any female friends around home so to spend what little time I have with the sisters at church is better than nothing at all. Even if I don't talk with them much.
I think things went well at church. The boys didn't complain, well only the little dude did because he was hungry but he is always hungry of late. Mark wasn't feeling the best but that seems to be a regular thing with him at the moment. I'm not sure why but he doesn't want to go to the doctor when I suggest it.
Even the ride home was relatively quiet but that was because the big fella fell asleep once we hit the highway. Of course that changed a bit once we got home. Young Mr hothead started raising his voice at everyone and wonders why I got mad at him!! But the little disagreement didn't last long he went to bed for a sleep for a couple of hours. He needed it mister grumpy!!

The Weekend Is Almost Over
I don't know why but on a Sunday morning while sitting in Chapel all I can think of are all the families in the ward. I think how great it must be for them to be able to go to church together. There are at least 3 large families there in our ward and I think they make up almost half of the congregation. Then I think of my family and how its only Mark, the boys and myself. Its sad to think that the rest of my family don't get the blessings and knowledge that we do. It's almost heart breaking at times.
Yesterday I mentioned that we were packing up. I think the little dude is getting rather excited because he keeps saying I can't wait until we're in our new home. I think that this place has come up at the right time. Mark told me this morning (or it may have been last night) that the caravan park owner, Dennis, said that it was lucky we got rid of the rubbish when we did because this Tuesday when he did the accounts for rent he was going to serve us with a notice to vacate. What a nasty little man he is!! I know the rubbish had been there for a while from the shed but he could've said something before now instead of telling Mark about having to get out. Its not like I want to stay here anyway. Let the nasty little man harass someone else and get the same amount of money from them that he has gotten from us! He might be pushing his luck to get it! I certainly will be glad to see the back of him. He's never been in my good books anyway right from the time when we moved in and he hit me. No one has the right to do that even if he was joking!!!
We have an assessment to take the big fella to on Tuesday in Glen Iris but I'm feeling awful about it right now. Mark's Grandad passed away on Friday and the funeral is in Ballarat (on the other side of Melbourne) on Tuesday. I know I would very much like Mark to be there at the assessment to talk with the psychologist during the parent session but it is also just as important, even more so now, for him to say goodbye to his Grandad. Mark's having a lay down at the moment he's not been feeling 100% today so I'll have a talk with him later about his going to the funeral. I certainly don't want him to regret not going to say goodbye.
I suppose I should get off this thing and consider heating up dinner. Thank goodness for leftovers. All I need to do now is cook some more rice and heat the casserole I made yesterday. I like nice and easy dinners like this!

It's the weekend!
It's a long weekend ... we're celebrating the Queen's 80th birthday. It's kinda funny though her birthday is the same day as Mark's and that was back in April! The reason why it's celebrated in June is because the weather is much nicer in England during June than it is in April.
Before I forget I must say that the big fella made it through the WHOLE school week without being suspended!! Woohoo!! It's great to know that he can do it. Now he just needs to get through a 4 day week this time round. He only has to last 4 days then its school holidays. I can't believe that it's holidays again already .. however they did have a 12 week term this time. It's just that it doesn't seem that way for the big fella. He's spent MORE time home than he has at school this term! Well it feels that way anyway.
Yesterday we went into town to food bank. It's held by a church and you pay $5 for some groceries. You certainly get your money's worth. We ended up with quite a bit of junk food the last couple of times we've gone. What did we get this time? Biscuits, pretzels, corn chips, pasta, potatoes, pumpkin, tomatoes, cream cheese, a loaf of bread and some other stuff that I just can't think of right now. We can't really complain about what we get since we really do get more than what we pay for.
While we were in town I made sure I paid some money on my lay-by. I've got some pj's for the boys and some stuff for myself on lay-by. It's not very often that I get something for myself but I needed these as they are an essential. I'll have to start another lay-by soon I really am in need of some new clothes. Especially for church. I only have one skirt that is suitable for winter and I don't know how much longer I can keep wearing it! It's not right that I only have one thing I can wear during winter!
Church was good today. The main talk was about temple and not just the building... it was about treating your body as a temple and making sure that you follow the Word if Wisdom etc. Mark said his priesthood meeting was about prayer and how you should ask Heavenly Father for anything and everything because if you don't ask He wont know how to help you. Well he would but he wont know that you want it, would He?
The boys must've had a good time because they never complained once. Which is amazing in itself. They normally complain about something no matter how small or trivial it may seem. I know I shouldn't complain about that .. it really is a good thing that they didn't.
Tomorrow is our public holiday and we really don't have much planned. In fact I am liking the idea of just staying home. We travel enough during the week and on Sunday's that I AM entitled to at least one day off a week. Which of course NEVER happens but since tomorrow is a holiday I want to stay home!!! Somehow I doubt that will happen because we're running low on groceries and I may need to drive into town to get some milk, etc. Too bad I didn't get it yesterday when we were out but I didn't think to and I don't get paid until Monday's anyway. So that kind of messes things up anyway.

Stuff .. .. ..
Oh man I have such a hard time trying to get things straight in my head right now. I can think it but I can't seem to be able to express it verbally.
Why do I find the weekends the most difficult time of the week??? Sometimes I just HATE it so much. I feel more stressed now than I do during the week. Why should the weekend be any different for the boys either? They seem to be at each other more and more. The insults, the arguing and just the general way they talk with each other drives me insane. Let alone the way that the big fella talks to me. All I can think is if I had spoken that to Mum or Dad I would've copped a huge hiding and I would've been sent to my room. However I don't recall ever being disrespectful to my parents. That's not to say I wasn't I just don't remember if I did or not.
I'm still having problems with the way I am thinking. Although I do feel a bit better than I did the other day or should I say last weekend. I think I need to revisit my affirmations and remember that there are good things. I'm having such a hard time with this.
Just before dinner Mark and I were talking about church and how relevant the talks during Sacrament were. In fact the talks were about prayer and Mark was only talking with me about it the other day. I am NOT good at saying them at all, especially out loud. I can't even seem to be able to say one before we eat dinner, not that we do that regularly anyway. I've even forgotten the one that Diva sent to me .. see I can't even get that right, I accidentally deleted the email!! Mark believes that I should say them so I can set an example for the boys but I feel that I am unable to do that yet. I know this is a cop out but he can do that for me right now.
I'm going to try and get the boys ready for bed and to get them to prepare their lunches for school tomorrow. I'm so glad that the big fella will be back at school tomorrow. It's been awfully difficult having him home for most of the week. Well maybe not difficult just different. I truly hope that he behaves this week. I don't know what I'll do if I get another phone call saying that I need to collect him because he has misbehaved again. Perhaps I shouldn't think like this but I still dread it when the phone rings during the day.
I have so much more I could write about but I don't think I am ready to put it into words just yet. I'll see how I go later .. ..

It's the weekend .. ..
You know sometimes I just absolutely HATE the weekend. I know I shouldn't because it's a time to relax and be with family. Right? Well NOT for me. Most weekends it's when the boys are at each others throats from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed. And the boys wonder why I send them to bed early!!! Well HELLO!! So far this weekend is no different to any other one.
We went into town today to do a bit of shopping and our first stop was Harvey Norman (an electrical/computer, etc store). Well the little dude was 'spoken' to by one of the staff there. Of course he didn't think it was such a great thing that Mark & I made him stay with us for the rest of the time we were in the shop. Not to mention that he now missed out on getting Maccas for lunch. He was really ticked off with that one so I know it was a good thing!!
Later the big fella and I went into Safeway (a supermarket here) and I thought it might be nice if I held his hand for a bit. But NO of course he is at that age where he will NOT show affection in public. I can understand why he is like this but still it would've been nice! Never mind.
Then of course these two little charmers thought it would be a wonderful idea to nick off outside when there was a thunderstorm and get soaked. I mean I didn't really mind because it's not like it was cold or anything but you would think they may have a little more common sense. I know its a little silly to think that way after all they are only kids.
Ooo I almost forgot Mark got this new Play Station game called Burn Out 3 - Take down. Guess who is the champion!! Moi!! I'm sure I fluked it but I managed to wreck 30 cars in the road rage part of the game. It's a good thing I don't drive like that in real life! lol the boys thought it was cool that their Mum played the game so well.
Anyway I'm off to go do something .. not sure what. Perhaps watch some of the Winter Olympics or even make some new stationery.. .. or not. I think veging out sounds good.

It's been a long day .. .. ..
Goodness what a day it's been today and it's seemed awfully long. I know why .. I didn't get much sleep last night. I just didn't want to go to bed, oh well.
Today we went to the Ficifolia Street Parade which my babies school was participating. They were carrying a whole range of flags from different Commonwealth countries. Some of the flags were made by the kids but the larger ones were donated by the Ficifolia festival (festival site). The kids were so excited, it was the first time that their school had been invited to participate.
We saw The Roulettes, (Aus. Defence Site) who are part of the Royal Australian Air Force & are an elite aerobatic display team. They were just so cool and the acrobatics that they did just totally amazed me. Seeing them reminded me of when I was the boys age and how I used to climb up onto the roof of the house with pillows and blankets to watch the RAAF Base airshow. They also has the RAAF Rescue helicopter there. I had forgotten how noisy they could be but it was wonderful to see it land and take off.
We also saw some old cars, gee they were just awesome. I was telling Mark which cars I wanted to take home :P and which ones we would drive on the weekends, to the shops, etc.
I was so disappointed in myself though. I had forgotten to take my digital camera with me so I missed out on some wonderful photo opportunities. I know I wont make that mistake again.
When we got home I was so tired I ended up having a catnap on the couch. I didn't realise that I also got a little burned but it was such a cool day that I didn't think to put on any sunblock. In fact I think we all got a little burnt on the face. We'll have to make sure that next time we do something like this we put on the sunblock.
Gosh Angus had such a hissy fit today. All over the Play Station and how I wanted to watch a movie on TV. He was at his best that's for sure. He did a 'Moaning Myrtle'!!(hp-lexicon)
Mark even commented on how bad Angus was. I think he had forgotten how bad he could be.
Anyway it's time for me to hit the sack I think. Everyone else is already asleep!!
