There are some really good ideas in this video on how I could store some of the stuff I have collected for my bullet journal.

Stamp Of Approval
I have just discovered stamps.
Well, I knew about them before, but I discovered them on eBay and Wish.
I wanted some for my bullet journalling and thought that they would come in handy to make things look pretty for when I don't feel like drawing. Stamps seemed the next logical choice other than printing stuff all the time.
I can't wait to start using them!!

New Art Supplies
I have some more washi tape.
I ordered this one from ebay.
![]() |
I quite like the banner/pennants |
I got the paint brushes from Wish.
I got all my art supplies out on Wednesday so I could have a bit of a play with the watercolour paints but I checked something on ancestry.com and ended up losing tack of time. I guess I did a bit of time travelling. I lost around 5 hours searching for info on my parents and grandparents.
Oh well, there's always the weekend to have a play with my watercolours .. hopefully.

Spotlight Shopping Haul
Brodz and I went in to Spotlight yesterday. The Boxing Day sales have started after all.
I wasn't able to get everything I wanted. I'm thinking I need to shop online but I did pick up a couple of bargains.
I wasn't going to purchase any yarn but Brodie convinced me to get some. I can't complain though the pack that I chose, a cream/off white colour, was around 33% off.
I also bought some material, flat fats, pens and elastic.
Not sure what I will do with this star tray though. Maybe Angus can make mini cakes or we could just use it for biscuits or ice. Who knows.

Yarn Stash Addition
Spotlight has a 40-50% off yarn sale at the moment.
I oohed and ahhed at the caron yarn cakes, which were 40% off, but I couldn't justify buying them when I had my lovely ice yarn skeins sitting in my stash. However, I did give them my cheek test and they felt soooo soft and squishy!
I chose some marvel yarn, spot savers and a couple of mill ends (these were 50% off)
I love how I managed to save over $22.

Mark was with me. He is such an enabler. I was only going to choose one mill end but he said grab another, especially since they are half price. I can't complain about that now can I? (~_o)

Especially parcels of yarn!
Woohoo! More Ice yarn!
I love the colourways of these two yarns.
I think they are both Magic Baby.

My Ice Yarn Order Arrived
My order arrived earlier this week. I ordered
I ordered the yarn from Knit4Charities
From left to right in the photo above:
Magic Light grey shades. Magic Baby lilac/pink/white, Magic Baby maroon/orchid/white, Magic Baby orange/white and Magic Baby blue/white
It cost around $4.25 per ball once you factor in postage.
Not bad really if you think about it.
If I were to travel to say spotlight for example (the closest store is 49.4 km or 30 miles away) to purchase yarn and I factored in the cost of fuel to get there and back it would probably work out to be about the same price per ball of yarn. At least this way the yarn gets delivered to my door (~_o)
I will enjoy the pretty colours for a while before I work out what I shall be making with this beautiful yarn!

Ice Yarn Shopping
I have been shopping online for some Ice Yarn which I purchase from the Knit4Charities group that I belong to. They are resellers of the yarn and they don't mark up the prices. Brodie wanted to get me some yarn for Mother's Day but I wasn't ready to order any yarn before now. That being said he and I went halves in what I did purchase.
I love the colours that I have chosen. I have no idea what I will be making with them. Hopefully they will arrive within a week as they are being delivered via courier and not Australia Post. Only time will tell as they are being sent from Turkey. Cross your fingers for me!

Did You Know Yarn Produces Pheromones?
A recent study has indicated that yarns give off certain pheromones that hypnotise women and cause them to purchase ungodly amounts of yarn. When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces, the pheromones in the yarn causes memory loss and induce the gathering syndrome, similar to the one squirrels have before the onset of winter.
Sound tests have also revealed that these yarns emit a very high-pitched sound heard only by a select few, known as stitchers. When played backward, the sounds are heard as chants...'Buy me! Crochet me!' Furthermore, pheromones seem to cause a pathological need to secret the yarn purchases away when one takes them home and blend them into the existing stash. When asked by a significant other if the yarn is new, the reply is, "oh, I've had it for a while!"
In order to overcome the so-called feeding frenzy effect that these yarns cause, one must wear a face mask when entering a storage facility, and use ear plugs to avoid being pulled into their grip. It is also beneficial to enter these storage facilities without the presence of cash or credit cards.
Sad to say, the addictive qualities of this compulsive behaviour are cumulative, and are ameliorated only by the purchase of more and more and more yarns.
No cure is known at this time

New Ice Yarn
My latest Ice Yarn order finally arrived today.
It was a very slow 4 weeks I can tell you. There was a public holiday in Turkey (where the yarn comes from) and it meant that my order too an extra week to be processed *sigh*
This yarn is called Soft Baby. I chose these colours mainly because I wanted to make some boy items and I mainly had colours that were more suitable for girls. So I chose a green and a cream colour that would compliment one another.
I bought there via the Knit4Charities group I belong to because they are Ice Yarn Re-sellers. You can also find them HERE on Facebook
I have so much yarn now that I have been thinking of going on a self-imposed yarn ban I need to start doing some stash busting projects. I am thinking of making lots of baby blankets & other items because there are at least two of the sisters in my ward at Church expecting babies within the next 6 months.
I just LOVE making baby items!

I Bought Myself Some Ice ...
I bought some Ice... Ice yarn that is.
I purchased it through the Knit4Charities Yarn Shop, who are resellers of the Ice Yarn.
The yarn comes directly from Turkey.
I purchased it on Monday of last week and it arrived yesterday morning. K4C sell it at the same price you would pay if you purchased it directly from Turkey.
I chose the cheaper option for postage ($12.98 AU for an 800g parcel) that's why it took as long as it did but there are other options available if you don't wish to wait as long for delivery. It worked out at around $4.24 per ball. Obviously the more you purchase the more it will weigh and the higher the postage cost.
Now all I need to do is work out what I am going to make with it.

My Spotlight Adventure
Last week I managed to go to Spotlight. This is my new addition to my yarn stash.
I needed the purple for my temperature blanket, especially since I have completed so many rows with this colour. I didn't want to run out. I am hoping that four will be plenty due to the fact that I am decreasing the rows each day.
This lot was all 30% off. The bags alone normally cost $10, which in itself is a bargain, but to get them for $6.99 was a BONUS! Lots of crochet and knitting hours in this collection.

More Yarn For My Stash
I ordered all of this on Tuesday morning and it arrived Thursday morning. How FAST is that!?!
You gotta love that when something you bought online arrives so quickly.
The lighter green yarn at the front is for my temperature blanket. As is the orange yarn below that I ordered from a seller on ebay. The rest is being added to my stash.

Yarn Winder
My Yarn winder arrived yesterday morning while Brodie and I were out for a walk. Thankfully Mark was up and able to receive the parcel. I just LOVE receiving parcels in the post!! Who doesn't?
I didn't know how to use it so I checked out a video from Mikey at The Crochet Crowd. He made it look so easy. And guess what?!?! It is REALLY easy to use. So of course I had to 'play' with my yarn winder. It really does turn the balls of yarn into space savers.
This drawer of mess was emptied so that I could wind up the leftover yarn but look who decided that the drawer would be perfect for them?!? Of course I let Missy Issy stay there and have a rest. It's terribly hard being a cat! However she had other ideas when she realised that there were balls of yarn she could chase. In fact she grabbed on ball and took off down the hallway with it.
![]() |
The bits of paper you can see in the middle of some of the balls, that's the label from the yarn so I would know what brand it is. |
Look how tidy that is now!
I have loads more to do but I am absolutely rapt with how much tidier everything looks. I am so glad that I decided to get a winder.

Shopping For Fun
Brodie and I went for a drive to Spotlight the other day. I wanted to get some continuous lace curtain to replace the one in the lounge room that Missy Issy tore when she decided it would be a really great thing to lie down on the pretty curtain.
This is the style that I ended up with. I bought white. I'm thinking that perhaps ivory may have been a better choice. Oh well. Maybe the next time I will get ivory rather than white.
I have also decided I wanted to make the "Call the Midwife" baby blanket. I didn't know which colour to make when I decided I wanted to make it. I also had no idea who to make it for, Then I realised that one of Brodie's friends, the one who helped keep him awake for his EEG that he needed to have done, is expecting a baby in about 10 weeks. So I bought green yarn. Mainly because I don't know what she's having and I thought that it would be fine for either a boy or a girl.
While we were walking around the store look what jumped in to my basket! Around 4.5 skeins of yarn. They are called a mill end assortment. Not bad for $6.99; for that price I can't really complain. Who knows they may end up as another blanket.

Addicted to Yarn?
I added to my yarn stash this week.
I am totally not addicted to yarn! Okay, well maybe I am.
I got this lot from the Wangaratta Woollen Mill's online stop called Mill Shop.
All this yarn only cost $16 dollars. I just LOVE a bargain!
Sorry but they only post within Australia.

Lincraft Order
Yes I understand that they don't work weekends and that takes up 4 of the last 12 days. I do however expect to be spoken to nicely when on the phone to a business. It's not too much to ask for, right?
I just hope that my order is exactly what I asked for. After checking their Facebook feed I see that there are many unhappy customers posting on their wall.
I'll post photos of my order later once I receive it.

I've Been Online Shopping
This is my new yarn to add to my stash. I got these from Wangaratta Woollen Mill.
I love getting bargains from there.
I love getting bargains from there.
Although I didn't realise when I bought these that they were nearly all pinks. Oh well. Not a bad thing I guess. At least I know I shall use them.
