Drawing - Cute Animals

I've been watching some videos by Draw So Cute on youtube.
I am certainly not as good as the lady who draws the videos and I am definitely not confident enough to draw them using a sharpie like she does but I did have fun drawing these animals.

The tabby cat is rather cute!

The squirrel and the panda are my favourites! They just look adorable!!

Video: Dogs Just Don't Want To Have A Bath

I was laughing so much at some of the reactions of these dogs. Especially the ones who can't wait to jump into the water and the dog that hid under the bed.

The dogs that were growling.Well, if I was there owners I would not want to be taking them anywhere near the water. Not unless they were muzzled or slightly sedated. I would definitely be calling Dr Harry (he's a vet who works on Better Homes and Gardens) for some help with them. They were scary!

Dirty Old Cat

Trip (on the left) and C.K. (on the right) snoozing on the bed the other day.

Our three-legged cat, Trip, has been through the wars over the years. The other day he had been chased by two young dogs into our backyard. When I opened the door to let him in he bolted into our bedroom. I went to check him out to see if he had possibly lost another one of his nine lives. Thankfully, he let me pick him up and lay him on the be so that I could feel him all over, rub him down and check for any damage. Everything was all good. I let him stay on the bed. He stayed there apart from leaving the room for food that's pretty much the only place he was for the rest of the day.

Once Trip went out later that evening he disappeared until the next morning when he wanted indoors for another feed. As soon has he had eaten he jumped back on the bed and stayed there all day, apart from getting off the bed to go and eat, until I went to bed around midnight. He, either in his old age or his laziness because it's winter and cold outside, had moved to another part of the bed to piddled and then moved back to his 'warm' spot that he had been laying in all day. Of course I didn't know this had happened until I sat on the bed. Gosh I could've smacked the little rascal.

There Mark & I were at just after midnight stripping the bed, changing the sheets and trying to work out what we could possibly use to keep us warm because the quilt had been soiled too. Thankfully the quilt and the electric blanket, which is now just used as a mattress protector, kept the mattress from being soiled too. I am so glad that we had sleeping bags that could be unzipped and used on the bed along with an old single bed quilt plus a pretty crocheted blanket I had made.

I had wanted to give all the bedding a good wash but not like this and not during these cold winter days. Thank goodness the weather has been sunny and I've been able to hang out the washing on the line. I just hope that everything will dry before bedtime otherwise it's another night with the sleeping bag, which was surprisingly quite warm. Cross your fingers for me that the weather doesn't turn cold and rainy.

Here's Why You Should Carry A Camera ... part 1

I received some of the cutest photos of animals I have ever seen in an email from my friend Julz.  I just had to share them with you. Since there are so many photos I thought I would spread it over a couple of posts.

New Drawing

This is Taffy the Tabby Cat. I drew her yesterday, just the cat not the background :)

I think I am getting the hang of drawing on the graphics tablet. It's not taking me anywhere near as long to draw what I want (and have it look half decent). Although having said that I am finding getting the 'colouring in' a little tough. Give me a piece of paper and some coloured pencils and I'm good with that but using a computer program for colouring in is a different thing altogether. I am sure I will get there eventually.

Day 6 - 30 Day Meme

Day 6 – A photo of an animal you’d love to keep as a pet.

I have always wanted a lilac point Balinese cat.
The colour looks so pretty. They just look so elegant & graceful.

Or I would love a Ragdoll.
They are just so placid and let you do just about anything to them. So to have one that looks like this picture would be great!

I would have to say that these cats are definitely on my wish list for pets and would be spoilt rotten just like the cats we have now.

Australian Animals

Golly gosh! Its no wonder there are so many misinformed people out there who have no clue about Australian animals & our country. International media (and Aussie media) has probably fuelled this misinformation.

I was reading a blog post this morning and the author (well their friend) was describing what a sugar glider was as they have a couple as pets (I didn't know you could get them as pets overseas). She said they live in the jungle. Its news to me as I didn't think we had jungles here in Australia. I know we have the bush & rainforests but no jungles.

Okay I can let that slip I guess but how about this one .. we have koala bears! NO we don't! Koala's are NOT bears in any way shape or form! They are Koalas!

Okay, with that said I feel better now.

What a Find!

Brodie was putting his boots on so that he & I could go out to shops. He put one of them on but something didn't feel quite right so he took it off & emptied it onto the floor in the hallway. When he examined it a little more closely he noticed that it was a frog! I thought he had squished it when he told me but he hadn't because it started hopping down the hallway.

Too bad I forgot to take a photo of it before it was taken outside & released in the backyard! Oh well.
