Watercolour Flowers

I've been playing with my watercolour paints.
I'm not too sure if I actually like these flowers but I think they may grow on me. 

Not bad for a bit of fun  this afternoon.

Bujo - September Layout

Since spring officially begins in September. It is also my favourite time of year. 

To me spring means lots of colours, flowers and fresh, crisp mornings that warm up into beautiful sunny days.
It seemed natural to me to choose a floral theme for next month.

The cover page was something I made in Paint Shop Pro. 

The calendar/future log was inspired by a picture I had seen on pinterest. I love how it turned out. I'm thinking I need to get some fixative spray so that I can stop the water coloured pencils from smudging.

I love the videos from Draw So Cute. She amazed me with how she can draw with a sharpie without making any mistakes. I have to draw in pencil first!

My Latest Piece of Art - a Line Drawing of a Cat

Last night I felt inspired to draw. I had seen this cute picture of a cat on pinterest recently and it was my inspiration for this piece. I have no idea who drew the original piece but it was of a lovely tabby. 

I've not ventured in to colouring any of my drawings yet. I don't want to mess them up. Although it is something I wouldn't mind trying soon, perhaps with a water colour background and drawing straight over the top of the paint.

Drawing Practise

I've been practising my line drawing recently. 

I think I prefer the cat on the bottom left of this pic. It looks rather sophisticated. 

I need to do some more practise.

Bullet Journal - Plant Doodles

I am loving how these plant doodles have turned out.
I found the pictures for these plants on pinterest.

I have to admit my doodles are improving that's for sure!

Drawing - Cute Animals

I've been watching some videos by Draw So Cute on youtube.

I am certainly not as good as the lady who draws the videos and I am definitely not confident enough to draw them using a sharpie like she does but I did have fun drawing these animals.

The tabby cat is rather cute!

The squirrel and the panda are my favourites! They just look adorable!!

Bullet Journal - March Doodling

I decided to stick with pretty much the same layout as last month so far.

I am having lots of fun drawing cute animals in the blank spaces of each day of my layouts. I think it looks a lot better than just leaving it all blank.

I also found some Triplus Fineliners in Neon Colours on the weekend. You gotta love sales! I already have some Fineliners so I know that these are good to use in my bullet journal.

I also found some metallic sharpies. I have no idea what I will use them for but I just liked the idea of having some new metallic markers. I just need to hide them from hubby...

Bullet Journal - February Spread

I love how the flowers and leaves turned out on this page! They really do make the page look so much better!

I thought that since February has Valentines day in it I would use red as my theme colour for the month.

Bullet Journal - January

I am still learning about bullet journalling and I know it will take me a while to get the hang of things.

Since January is Summer here I went with some summer drawings.

I really disliked the first weeks layout so I didn't take a photo of it to share. In fact it looks so horrible that I was tempted to glue the pages together!! I much prefer the one in the photo below. It's simple but it looks pretty with the hibiscus flower there to offset all the plain boxes and writing.

I covered up some appointments.
I need to remember to take photos before I put personal stuff on any of the pages.

I am very tempted to look in the scrapbooking shops and/or the cheap shops in town (and the next town over from us) to see what stickers they may have. I have found lots online that are specifically designed for planners and bullet journals but I want to check out things locally before purchasing anything. Sometimes it takes a while for things to get here which means I shall need to plan well in advance for some of the stickers. My mind hasn't got around that yet but I'll get there.

Things I need to practise:

• calligraphy
• drawing
• using water colour paints & pencils more effectively

I am sure there will me many more things that I need to add to this list.

A Budding Young Artist

Look at what my clever young man drew using Windows Paint.

I wanted Angus to have a go at using the Graphics Tablet but he said it was too hard to use. Soooo... he used paint instead.

The smaller insets are the pictures he copied.
Angus truly amazes me with the way he uses paint! He ROCKS!

New Drawing

This is Taffy the Tabby Cat. I drew her yesterday, just the cat not the background :)

I think I am getting the hang of drawing on the graphics tablet. It's not taking me anywhere near as long to draw what I want (and have it look half decent). Although having said that I am finding getting the 'colouring in' a little tough. Give me a piece of paper and some coloured pencils and I'm good with that but using a computer program for colouring in is a different thing altogether. I am sure I will get there eventually.

It took me forever to get the cat right & it still doesn't quite look the way I wanted it but considering I am still a newbie at this I am not doing too bad.
The hardest part was trying to decide on a background to go with her.

What do you think of this one? Any good?
You can be honest if you want or just tell me it looks fab.
Feeding my ego with positives is a good thing :P

My Digital Drawings

My first ever go at using my new graphics tablet. I had no idea what I was doing. It was 1am and I getting a little tired but I wanted to play before I went to bed. So please excuse its crudeness.

This is my second attempt at drawing. I thought a cartoon character might look better than trying to draw something that looked more realistic
(not that I will even attempt that any time soon).
It took me several hours to complete this but I was learning as I went a long. Making different layers for the colours before merging them.
I must admit it was loads of fun & I LOVE how my pirate turned out!
Who knew that drawing freehand on the computer could be so much fun!
