Why I Love Living In The Country

This photo was taken out at Labertouche not far from where the boys went to primary school.

Brodie & I were talking the other day about why it's great to live in the country. Here's a list of some of the reasons why I love it so much.
  • where else can you see a tractor driving through the main street of town?
  • sometimes you may see a tractor parked at the local pub and the farmer has gone into the pub for a beer
  • you may get to see a farmer and his tractor driving through the bottle shop at the pub
  • things move at a slower pace
  • there isn't all that traffic congestion during 'peak' hour
  • peak hour consists of 10 - 15 cars waiting at the round about and the congestion lasts for 10 minutes or less
  • you can actually see the stars at night & the sky looks really pretty

I imagine that traffic does move slower, those tractor's don't have overdrive.

Skies are so much nicer when you are in the country. I do miss that.

That's a very nice shot, Jo! And I agree with you and Brodie...living in the country is great! But there's also some good things about living closer to the city. Like the fact that stores and shops and things are open 24 hours a day! Very convenient! You can get up, while everybody else in the house is sleeping, and go and do your grocery shopping, banking, and all manner of things, and come back, go to sleep, and get up for breakfast with the doings for a great breakfast...and no errands to do for the rest of the day! ^_^ Also, restaurants deliver without it costing you anything, and there is always something to do or somewhere to go that's open! Movies, shows, concerts, whatever! ^_^ I've lived in the country and in the city. They both have wonderful advantages!

ArtyMarti traffic does move a lot slower especially if you get stuck behind a tractor or truck going up hill :D

Poetess, unfortunately or fortunately depending on which way you look at it we don't get a lot of 24 hour shops in Australia. The ones we did have were supermarkets and it was only those in country areas that were open all hours.
I do miss getting takeaway delivered but in some ways its a good thing that its not always available here without a cost. It means we don't get it unless someone (usually me) is willing to go and collect it.

I do like your reasons for city living though. We do need to travel a bit for concerts and other events. Thankfully we can hop in the car or on the train and be in the city within 90 minutes :)
