Lost in Austen

My girlfriend, Mish, recommended a DVD for me to watch. She knows how much I love to read and watch movies that are historical fiction.

This DVD was a short TV series in the UK called Lost in Austen. It's based on the book Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.  Amanda Price is from present day UK and she is obsessed with the book. Amanda and Elizabeth Bennet ( the main female character from the novel) end up trading places. The series follows what happens with Amanda and all the disasters that seem to follow her.

I've only watched the first two episodes so far and it's not a bad show. I love Alex Kingston, who plays Elizabeth's mother, and Hugh Bonneville, who plays Elizabeth's father.

Poor Amanda, she just seems to be digging a big hole for herself as she tried to make things right now that Elizabeth isn't on the scene. I can't wait to see what happens in the final two episodes.

Finally ~ A Complete Series

I managed get myself the last season of my favourite Star Trek series ~ Voyager.

It's taken a few years but I now have the complete series.

Time to go continue my Voyager-a-thon! 

I'm up to season 5 at the moment.

I'm off to grab my crochet & stick another disc on (~_o) 

Due South

Look at what arrived in the post today. I bought it on ebay (yes I know something else from ebay). I used to love watching this show. Benton Frasier that spunky Canadian Mountie & his deaf lip-reading dog! Benton & Detective Ray would get into such trouble but things would always work out in the end.

I bet you can guess what I will be watching soon ....

More DVD's

I couldn't help myself ... but look what I bought. MacGyver rocks! So does RDA.

I had all of the shows (well nearly all of them) on VHS that I had recorded off the TV many years ago. And since we don't currently have a working video player in the house (its in Mark's shed) ... anyway I had been thinking about getting this for a while. I even looked on ebay but found them cheaper here.

I can't wait to get them. Maybe I can as I am still watching North & South and I've only just finished watching the first disc of the second book.

North And South

My North & South DVD's arrived on Monday. You gotta love ebay & my postie for bringing them to me!

This was the first thing I ever say Patrick Swayze in. He was just so good looking in his uniform playing Orry Main! I was smitten! If he could've ridden up on his horse to take me away to his cotton plantation I would gladly have gone with him. Of course that was never going to happen but a girl could dream.
It certainly was the beginning of my watching every single movie he was ever in.

I have watched a little bit of the DVD's so far. I'm about 3.5 - 4 hours in. I only have around 17-18 hours to go! But seeing that its Patrick I'll just have to suffer through it all *sigh*
