VIDEO: Crochet Plaid Blanket - The Crochet Crowd

I have been thinking about making a plaid or rather a tartan blanket for quite some time. I really want to make it in my football teams colour. I haven't watched all of the video yet but the finished blanket does look amazing.

Print Friendly PDF

I love finding new crochet and knitting patterns to download. Sometimes however there isn't always an option to download patterns as PDF files.

This is where Print Friendly PDF comes in handy. All you need to do is copy the url and paste it into where it says enter a url. You just wait for a pop up and download your PDF to save to your computer.

Some websites/bloggers already have this option available for their posts which is great but some don't. This is something I stumbled across, probably from a Facebook post, which I find very useful for copies of freebie patterns that I wish to keep. It gets rid of all that extra unnecessary stuff like ads.
That being said not all websites work with this print friendly option. Pictures may be missing or it may just not work. It's hit and miss but it does come in handy.

Checkered Crochet Cowl Crochet Pattern | Red Heart

I like the look of this pattern. Although I don't think I would use red.
I was thinking navy blue would look nice.

New Pattern Purchase - Knot Your Nana's Crochet - Under the Sea Blanket

I've gone and done it again. I have bought another set of patterns from Teri Heathcote. How could I now? I just LOVE her patterns. They always look amazing.

I knew the patterns was almost near completion. That's why I was making those blanket squares. Which I haven't taken a photo of recently, oops.  They squares are all ready to go. Now all I need to do is make the applique to go on them.
I don't know which square I will like the best but they all look pretty good!

You can find the patterns HERE on Ravelry
Teri has all the patterns in her Ravelry store marked at 25% off.

WIP - Crochet - Baby Cocoon

I am taking my time making this one. I'm not too keen on making the panel with what looks like the crocodile stitch. I'm just having problems understanding the pattern.

One of my nieces said the eyes look like they would make a great bikini. I was thinking they would make an amazing sleep mask.

I'm making the largest size that the pattern has. It looks way too big but I am making this for my 5 month old great-great niece. Hopefully I finish it and get it posted over to my niece before
Sienna-Grace gets too big for it.

I need to be able to wrap my head around making the centre panel that has what looks like feathers. I am just struggling with the pattern. It just wasn't making sense to me (o.0)

The pattern I am following can be found HERE on Ravelry

I Purchased Some New Crochet Patterns & WIP

A few years ago the only patterns I seemed to have used for baby clothing were created by Heather from Just Crochet. The other day I bought four more patterns from her. I love how Heather writes the patterns up in both UK and US terms. I know how to follow patterns with either terminology but I prefer the UK terms if possible. It's just what I am used to.

The patterns I bought were:
I started making the dress in a mint green but I made a boo-boo and I had to frog it. I'm crossing fingers that I can complete my second attempt without another mistake. At least I caught it before I got too many rows done. I have put the green away for when I make one of the boy patterns up. I have a fair amount of baby yarn so I am using pink and white for now.

Slowly but surely adding the skirt.

Shopping On Ravelry - Newborn Knots

I bought some patterns from Newborn Knots (Amanda Chapman) on Ravelry. I just love the look of her patterns. She currently has a deal on buy 10 patterns for the price of 2. With currency conversion it cost me $9.77 AU so that's less than $1 per pattern. You just have to love a bargain! I'm not sure how much longer the deal has to go but if you are interested you should go have a look sooner rather than later.

Anyway here's a small selection of what I bought.

Baby Bot Britches

Cable Shell Baby Sweater Dress

Crocodile Stitch Owl Hat

Hooded Baby Sweater Coat with Pockets

There are so many wonderful patterns to choose from. These just look wonderful!
