Did You Know Yarn Produces Pheromones?

A recent study has indicated that yarns give off certain pheromones that hypnotise women and cause them to purchase ungodly amounts of yarn. When stored in large quantities in enclosed spaces, the pheromones in the yarn causes memory loss and induce the gathering syndrome, similar to the one squirrels have before the onset of winter.

Sound tests have also revealed that these yarns emit a very high-pitched sound heard only by a select few, known as stitchers. When played backward, the sounds are heard as chants...'Buy me! Crochet me!' Furthermore, pheromones seem to cause a pathological need to secret the yarn purchases away when one takes them home and blend them into the existing stash. When asked by a significant other if the yarn is new, the reply is, "oh, I've had it for a while!"

In order to overcome the so-called feeding frenzy effect that these yarns cause, one must wear a face mask when entering a storage facility, and use ear plugs to avoid being pulled into their grip. It is also beneficial to enter these storage facilities without the presence of cash or credit cards.
Sad to say, the addictive qualities of this compulsive behaviour are cumulative, and are ameliorated only by the purchase of more and more and more yarns.

No cure is known at this time

Crochet Funny

I came across this in one of my Crochet groups on Facebook:
Australian Crochet Community
It's too good not to share ☺

I admit I have pulled things apart plenty of times when I have made a mistake.
Perhaps next time I shall repeat it AND call myself a designer (~_o)

Crochet Humour

I snagged some of these from Crochet Project Ideas on Facebook.
The rest I'm not too sure where I found them.

I'm Addicted To Collecting Crochet Patterns

Perhaps it might be easier to stop adding more patterns to my collection .. hahaha yeah right as if that is ever going to happen!!

You should see the amazing stuff that I have found on Ravelry. There are so many talented designers out there. I just wish I truly could crochet faster so that I can try out all of these wonderful patterns I have found.

Knitting Funnies

I snagged these from an email sent through the Knit4Charities group quite some time ago.

How do you know if an elephant has been in your knitting bag?
Look for the footprints in the merino.

Why do elephants have wrinkled knees?
Improper blocking.

I have keys but no locks. I have space but no room. You can enter but can’t go outside. What am I?
Not sure, but you sound like my stash cupboard.

What has a neck, but no head or body?
This sweater, which is due in a week.

What is full of holes but can still hold water?
This wet-blocked shawl, which needed to be in the mail to my editor about an hour ago.

What’s black and white and red all over?
A traditional Norwegian lusekofte. Duh.

What has two hands, a round face, runs and runs, but stays in place?
Me, knitting garter stitch.

What has eyes but cannot see?
Me, reading a lace chart.

What’s black and white and red all over?
This bloody lace chart.

Why couldn’t the pirate play cards?
He was reading a lace chart.

What belongs to you, but is used more by others?
My tape measure.

What do you get when you cross a sheep and a wolf?
A wool shortage.

The more you have of me, the less you see. What am I?
Stitch markers! Where are my stitch markers?

If you cast a white stone into the Red Sea, what would it become?
A very pretentious colorway.

Why does a flamingo stand on one leg?
Second-sock syndrome.

Knock, knock!
Go away, I’m counting!

Music Video: Mommy's Hallelujah

This Mommy has the most precious singing voice ever. I love her song.
I believe it's very appropriate. Especially when it came to my boys bedtime. It was a relief some days. But sshhh don't let my boys know.

Playing Games

Angus believes that this is the only way I will actually play a game.
Sheesh .. it's knitting. He would be more successful if it was crochet (~_o)

What a Crochet Addict Thinks About

Seriously though I have so many patterns that I don't think I will ever get through them all in my lifetime. However, that being said, it is nice to collect them ♥ ☺☺☺ ♥

"I Just Need Some Space" - Meghan Trainor - "All About That Bass Parody

This was in my Facebook feed and since I love the original song I had to check this out.
It is really well done. Plus what Mum doesn't need some space to herself every now and then?

Psoriasis Humour

Some of it is a little bit of tongue in cheek humour about psoriasis. You just have to laugh about some of the comments people make. I learned many years ago not to stress out about what people say to you. Hanging on to what everyone says about your disease will just eat you up and cause a whole world of hurt.
I just laugh now. After all laughter is the BEST medicine!!

This is totally me ☺☺ I am FABULOUS!

I wish it was that easy

^^ I think the one above speaks volumes on how we think ^^
I quite often think about that tar one. I still make comments like .. I smell like a freshly laid road... when I use it. It's such a passion killer! To smell like tar, yuck! I often wondered what my husband would think about that smell when I use it but to be honest I don't think he really cares.

8th Day A Week

I have to admit when I thought about an eighth day in each week I thought of this Beatles song.
