My Latest Piece of Art - a Line Drawing of a Cat

Last night I felt inspired to draw. I had seen this cute picture of a cat on pinterest recently and it was my inspiration for this piece. I have no idea who drew the original piece but it was of a lovely tabby. 

I've not ventured in to colouring any of my drawings yet. I don't want to mess them up. Although it is something I wouldn't mind trying soon, perhaps with a water colour background and drawing straight over the top of the paint.

Drawing Practise

I've been practising my line drawing recently. 

I think I prefer the cat on the bottom left of this pic. It looks rather sophisticated. 

I need to do some more practise.

The Cat Trap Works

It's nto really a cat trap. We've received a few parcels recently that have arrived in boxes.

Any box that is placed on the floor seems to attract Issy! Hence my saying the cat trap works.

I Love My Fluffy Cat

Missy Issy loves to lay in all sorts of places. 

She is certainly value for money as far as entertainment is concerned. 

My lap warmer! A very welcoming thing on these chilly nights.

I do believe Issy is smiling in this one. She is surrounded by my temperature blanket as I was crocheting. I had to place the blanket in such a way that she wouldn't be disturbed.

On the exercise ball. Issy was waiting for me to sit down so she could lay on my lap.

She found Angus's lap! 

Kitty Cat Play Fighting

I love how my cats get along so well with one another. I caught them play fighting. Not bad considering Missy Issy is almost 18 months but C.K. is around 11 years old.

C.K. quite often starts the play but Issy usually finishes it. She will stick her paw in his face as if to say "Talk to the Paw, I am not listening". She will also do this when she isn't in the mood to play as well. As I said C.K. starts it most of the time.
I am just glad they get on so well.

Unintentional Cat Trap

Missy Issy got busted on the table. Well, technically she wasn't on the table she was in a box that just happened to be on the table. She was found there asleep in the early hours of the morning the other day. Only thing is we don't let our cats go on to any surfaces where we have food ie: kitchen benches and the table.

She's a cheeky thing that's for sure. It's just as well I love her! My little naughty tortie! 

Meet Issy My New Baby Girl

Mark could see how awfully sad I was with losing Trip. In fact I felt so bad I just didn't have the energy to do anything. I didn't even want to go shopping for fun, which is something I would usually jump at the chance to do.

Mark pretty much put his foot down and made me go out on Friday. He wanted to take me to the RSPCA to just look at kitties. In fact there were 32 at the shelter when we looked on the website. Looking online is one thing, Driving there was something totally different. Plus it was an hour away.

Reluctantly I got in the car with Mark & Brodie, Angus wanted to remain at home, and we drove to Pearcedale, our closest RSPCA.

Just looking at all the cats did make me feel better. With all these gorgeous kitties being so happy that someone was coming to look at them, talk with them and pat them through the fences made most of them happy, vocal and affectionate.

There were three or four that I liked the look of. Who came up to me. Kissed or licked my hand. But this little one, Issy, came out of her basket for me. Just for me. She just looked at Mark and Brodie but moved for me. Even one of the handlers said she hadn't seen her out of her basket.

OMGosh she is just so affectionate. With lots of head butts and smooching. She won me over. She now has a new forever home.

She isn't too sure of C.K. yet. In fact she growled big time at him. I think C.K. is a bit scared of her at the moment. I also think his nose is a bit out of joint as we have closed of the other end of the house where all the bedrooms are. It's Issy's domain for now.

I still feel bad that we had to put Trip down but as Mark has said to me getting a new cat will help me to focus on something else. He's right it does but I still miss Trip like crazy.

Meet Me At The Rainbow Bridge Trip

On Thursday afternoon we had to put our beautiful black and white cat Trip to sleep.

Trip only had three legs. He was having a lot of mobility issues, he had arthritis and he also had trouble toileting to the point where he would go potty where he was lying. He was 14 years old. 

I feel like such an awful owner for having to do this. It's never easy to say goodbye to a furbaby. I am such a mean mummy cat. 

At least now, he is not in pain and he wont have problems running about.

Elvis the Siamese Cat Will Not Be Ignored

I love what Elvis does when he is asked if he wants a cookie.
I definitely laughed at that one. He certainly knows what he wants!

I know that Cats are very intelligent. The fact that they can learn sign language is amazing.

I saw this video in my Facebook feed this morning. I think this cat is so cute. When it's owner coughs the sleepy kitty responds.

C.K. Gave Me A Present

Darn it C.K. I don't know what is more annoying. You catching a mouse and bringing it indoors to play with it or the fact that you have lost it inside somewhere??

Silly Old Cat

Our Trippy cat is a bit senile these days. He does some really unusual things of late such as sleeping on the roof of Mark's shed in the middle of winter. I suppose we could forgive his eccentricities considering he is around 12 years old now.

Cute Kitty Video

How cute is this kitty?! It's so adorable.
I just love how patient this kitty is as they try to get their owners attention. Cats are just not know for their patience. 

WIP - Crochet - Cat & Flower Blanket

Angus and I have been trying to work out how to organise my squares for my blanket. 

I've been pretty slow in finishing this blanket. Maybe it's because I am making it for myself.

Anyway here's what we have settled on so far.

I have added a light gray tabby kitty on a light purple square (not shown in these photos).

I am also going to make another flower to go on another light purple square.

I think I will copy the style of the second photo.

The gray tabby square will be in the bottom left and the flower shall go in the middle make it 

four flowers in the centre.

WIP - Crochet Blanket - Gray Tabby Cat Applique

 Here's my latest finished square. I based it on the tiger applique from my zoo blanket by Knot Your Nanas Crochet.

Now to decide on what flower pattern I will use for my next square.
