Thankful Thursday

Photobucket

Here's what I am thankful for this week:
  • Brodie had been having pain near his gall bladder over the weekend & I am thankful that the tests done so far have shown that it wasn't gallstones. (Yes I kept that pretty quiet but he's feeling much better now)
  • the nurse who was able to find my vein first pop when doing my blood tests this morning
  • the cool change that arrived late Tuesday night. It has cooled things down beautifully
  • Mark and his being able to set up a Smoothwall so that we can find out who uses the most bandwidth & so that we can block 'outsiders' from hacking into our network & stealing our net connection. I <3 my geek!

What are you thankful for this week?

I sure appreciate good nurses. When my grandson was in the hospital last week, he had such wonderful ICU nurses. They were compassionate, and efficient.
Wishing health for your whole family.

Whoa! I'm thankful that the tests done on Brodie showed that it wasn't gallstones too! But have you figured out what it is?! O_O It's always something in this life, isn't it?!...And how cool about the 'geek stuff' too!...My big thankfulness this week is that my hubby has been home and we've been enjoying our time getting some peace and quiet, and some needed things done.

Marti, I totally agree with you there. Nurses are wonderful and I am so thankful that they care as much as they do. I hope your grandson is feeling better.

Poetess, I'm glad you got to have some peace & quiet. We sure do need that sometimes.

They weren't able to work out what caused the pain. Brodie was admitted to hospital Saturday afternoon but was able to go home Sunday afternoon after initial testing showed that it wasn't gallstones.
The doctor there said that they are going to write to our GP and recommend that he had more tests done. Like the one with the camera to check his stomach.
It is highly likely that there was too much stuff in his bowels & he's been put on some meds to help get rid of it. I think it may have done the trick as he is feeling a lot better now. Personally I think he just needs more fruit & veg in his diet but teens don't always listen to their Mums.

I know Poetess, its a scary thing when your colon isn't working properly. It can lead to all sorts of problems :-/
