The big fella had his birthday on Wednesday and he said it was the best day he's ever had!! He was so excited about being given a gameboy by one of the families from church. He played it non-stop until it was time to leave to get Mark from the train station. Although he didn't get many presents on the day he received them before his birthday so he was happy to get them early. It was stuff he needed anyway.
Mark said that his Grandads funeral went very well. It was a Catholic service and he'd never been to one before. Neither have I come to think of it. He said it was nice to see some of his family. It was a shame that it was under these circumstances. Perhaps the next time he visits Ballarat will be under better circumstances. In fact he would like us all to go there over the Summer holidays. I think we can try and manage that.
I'm so glad that Mark was able to say goodbye to his Grandad. I know that he would've regretted not going if he had stayed behind for the big fellas assessment.
Let's see on Thursday we still hadn't heard from the Office of Housing. Surprise, Surprise! So I phoned and spoke to Jodie, the lady who phoned and offered us a house. She told me that she isn't the person I need to talk to right now and that I need to talk to Victor, who can you believe, was NOT in the office today and should be back tomorrow. Well guess what I never heard from Victor on Friday either! I am beginning to wonder if we really will get this place that we were offered or not.
On Friday I got a phone call from the school telling me that the big fella was going into time out because he refused to go to class just before lunch. He told the teachers that he wanted to go home. So the Assistant Principal phoned me and asked if I could talk to him. Which I did but I told him that I was going to the primary school like I always do on a Friday and that there is NO way that I can go and collect him. I told him that it was to bad and that it had to go to time out and tough it out for the rest of the day.
Today, we went into food bank and Mark found a bluetooth head set for an absolute bargain of $1. Unbelievable! We also looked for a few things which we are collecting for our 72 hour pack. Not that we have purchased much yet there really isn't much point in getting them until after we move. I know we should be prepared for any emergency but I can't see the point in getting new stuff now only to pack it all up when we move.
I also made the little dude happy today. He has a lay-by at the ABC bookshop in town. He's chose the Chronicles of Narnia about two months ago and I said that we could put in on lay-by. He is so excited that there is only $10 left to pay and he can't wait to get it. I reminded him that hopefully we will be moving soon and we can get it after we've moved otherwise we'll get it and I will have to pack it away in a box until we get to the new place. I think he was happy with that.
Right now the boys are getting a little rowdy so I had better go into them and settle them down. The little rascals need to get ready for bed anyway, we're up early in the morning.
