Thankful Thursday

Photobucket

Its almost hard to believe that it's Thursday already. This week seems to have flown by so quickly. Here's what I am thankful for this week ...
  • for Mark being okay & that he didn't have a heart attack. Boy was that a scary Tuesday!
  • for my health, even though its not 100% its still reasonably good. I feel that sometimes I take my health for granted and it isn't until something goes wrong that I realise how good I really have it
  • for my crafty things that I can use to escape from the hassles of the world
  • for Angus, he is turning into such a loving and caring young man (even if his grumpy teenage attitude erupts now & then he is still a good kid at heart)
  • for finding some bargains when I went shopping last weekend with Brodie, we found a few good items :)
What are you thankful for this week?

Back Into A Routine

After yesterday's posts I wanted to have a bit more of a 'normal' day. Well maybe not normal because we all know that there is no such thing as normal. Maybe I should say that I wanted a day that had a more familiar routine & feel to it.

I managed to get the washing done & hung out. Last nights dishes were finally washed (I didn't do them last night before heading back to the hospital & the boys didn't think to do them for me) and I put dinner into the slow cooker. All while Mark slept. I wasn't going to wake him. Not after yesterday.

He looked much better when he finally got out of bed. I haven't really asked him how he feels but I am sure that he would tell me if he wasn't feeling well. (Apparently I did ask Mark how he felt I just forgot that I had - call me an air head! lol)

I haven't managed to knit or crochet anything for the past few days. Mainly because I hadn't felt like it but also because I didn't have the wool (well acrylic yarn) I wanted to make those cute little Hedgehogs from that book I bought on the weekend. I did manage to sew up these fingerless gloves that I had made for Brodie (I made a pair of these for Angus a while ago, well not the same type but similar) .

The pattern I had was different to the ones I made & were a lot smaller too so I had to adjust it. The pattern was for double crochet stitches (US single crochet) and I thought that was a bit too plain. So I tried jazzing it up a little with half trebles (US half double crochet) and double crochet stitches. I must admit that it looks much nicer than what the photos show.

Brodie loves them. He's the hand model by the way. I think they look pretty good. I may even make a pair for myself but not until I have made a hedgehog or two. I finally got the white & pale pink yarn I needed to make them.

A Quick Update

We're finally home! We got in about an hour ago. Mark is in bed resting. It turns out that it was not a heart attack, thank goodness. The enzyme that they look for that indicates heart attack was not present in the blood.

The doctor there seemed to think that it could be a bad reaction from nicotine withdrawal. Mark has cut his smoking back dramatically & the doctor said some people sometimes get really bad chest pains when trying to quit. In fact sometimes they feel really bad for quite some time. It explains a bit. I'm not entirely sure with his diagnosis but it is very plausible.

I just hope that Mark doesn't feel as bad as he did this afternoon. It was a bit scary for a while there.

I'm off to get some sleep. Even though I haven't really done anything today I'm feeling really tired. So off to bed I go. *yawn*

Guess Where I Am...

I am at the hospital with Mark. The poor thing has chest pains again. He's hooked up to a monitor with all these leads attached to various stickers all over his body.

Hopefully the Doctor wont be too long. However saying that I know Mark will be here for several hours yet due to blood tests that are required & that need to be repeated around 6 hours after the initial pain or from when the initial bloodst are drawn I can't remember which.

I'll post an update once I get home. You know, I never thought I would be emailing another post from the hospital. I know I needed some excitement to spice up my day but I certainly don't need it to be something like this *sigh*

Angus's WIP & an Update

Angus asked me to upload a photo of all the squares he has made so far. He is very happy with what he has done so far. I think he has done a wonderful job! Great work there kiddo!

Just a quick update .. so far so good today. Things are calm for now. Brodie & I even went to Church this morning. Just for sacrament but its a start. It felt good to be there (always a good sign) I am hoping that the rest of today will remain as nice as this morning had been. Crossing my fingers. Wish us luck!

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows Pt 2

Here's a preview for the final instalment of Harry Potter.
Angus & I saw Part 1 together last year. I can't wait for the next one (roll on July!)
Good will triumph over evil!
