Crocheted Poppy Brooch

I whipped this little poppy up last night while watching some TV. I hate sitting in front of the TV not doing anything with my hands don't you? Anyway I watched a youtube video on my phone & though Oooo I can make that it looks so easy. And it was :D

I thought I would crochet the poppy in my hand so you have an idea of its size
The reason why I chose the poppy video to look at, other than the fact that it was in one I my crochet channel subscriptions, is that Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day, Armistice Day, Veterans Day depending on where you live) is coming up next Friday.

This looks more like its real colour. Although it is a bit redder than this photo shows.
I think the boys would like me to make one although I am unsure that they would really want to wear something that I had crocheted. I think I might keep an eye out for the stalls at the supermarkets where either Legacy or Rotary sell the pins. I am sure that they boys would prefer to wear one of those instead.

I bought some pins a while ago on ebay for sewing on to brooches. I finally got around to using one
The video below is the one I watched on youtube so that I could make my poppy. It's from All Free Crochet.

My daughter makes these and puts alligator clips on them so they can be worn in the hair or on a crocheted cloche hat. Very cute!

Beverly, Thank you :) I would never have thought of using alligator clips. I might keep an eye out for them.
