Respite

Good News! Brodie is off on a respite break. I got a phone call last Monday morning asking if Brodie would like to go to the respite place in Moe this weekend because it was a teen group weekend. Thankfully he was all for it when I asked him.

Angus and I dropped him off here last night. Brodie was all excited & even took his guitar with him. I am guessing that things are going well as I haven't heard from him today come and collect me. I did however get a phone call from him last night around 10:30 so that he could say goodnight to me. I was expecting his call as he often likes to phone me up to day goodnight. Its rather sweet really.

Some more good news on the respite front. I got a call from the Shire and they have organised for Brodie to have someone come on a Monday & Thursday afternoon to take him to various activities of his choice. I am trying to encourage him to go swimming, to the library or even bowling. He hasn't really decided what he wants to do yet but he will need to choose soon. As the two men who will be with him would prefer to have an organised activity rather than nothing planned at all.

I know Brodie would prefer to go bowling but I am not sure that he realises that he will need to pay for himself and if he wants his companion to join he he will need to pay for that as well. He has until Monday afternoon to decide for the first one ... I'll try and get him to pick something before then.

For now at least, I am enjoying the peace and quiet. There's been no arguments so far this weekend and its been bliss!
