My Week .. ..

Not a lot has happened for the rest of this week. In fact we hardly did anything apart from the usual school run, a bit of grocery shopping and the Primary School newsletter.

I did bump into Chris at the Primary School on Thursday afternoon though. She helped the High School and myself complete the application form for the Education Department to get the funding for Brodie. She said it was great news to hear that we had an aide and she also thought it was great that his aide was a male. Too right! Could you imagine Brodie listening to a female aide? I don't think so! He hardly listens to me or any of the female teachers he has. They would've had to been an awfully strong person to get Brodie to work. It's just easier that it's a man. It saves hassles!!
I did ask her how long the funding would last. She said "hopefully for the rest of his school life - after all Autism never goes away does it!" I never thought of it that way.
Chris also asked if we were on the list with Mansfield. I said yes we've been on the list for over a year now. She said it wouldn't hurt to contact them again to say HEY we are still here and still interested in your help. I'll do that this week, once I've found the letter that is.

Mark, Angus and I went to food bank this morning. Angus was such a grump as we took him away from the play station! Little ratbag! He was more interested in the game than coming with us!

The boys nicked into town around midday. It's the Ficifolia Festival this week and the street parade was starting at noon. I didn't feel like going this year as Angus school wasn't participating this time. He did for the past two years though. The first was when the Commonwealth Games were on in 2006 and last year when they went on a float. I'm not too sure why they didn't go this time round but that doesn't matter really.
