My NEW project :: A Christmas Quilt::

I went to applique on Tuesday night and I left the boys home (they didn't clean their room and one of the rules is if its not clean there's no Youth activities for them that week). I went to pick up Sister Gwen but when I got there she told me that it had been cancelled. I wasn't all that happy as I have to travel over 40 kilometres to get there. Gwen said that she had a phone call on Monday to let her know. I just wish that someone had told me before I left home. It wasn't a total waste of time though as I spent a couple of hours with Sister Gwen and I decided to start another new project since I don't have access to the pattern for the Noah's Ark quilt. I need something to do while I am waiting for applique to be on and I just don't want to sit around at home doing nothing. I chose the most beautiful Christmas pattern from one of my new books. I traced the pattern onto my heat & bond ready to begin work at home while chatting away with Gwen.

I got stuck into it on Wednesday. Mark was out with the car and I was home by myself. The perfect time to get stuck into my 'new' project. I cut out the background blocks and chose all the colours I wanted to use for the reindeer, the houses and for Father Christmas. The once I had prepared each of the blocks I thought I had better take some photos to share. I've been a bit slack about uploading them though but here they are.

I think I did very well with choosing all the colours that I used. And the best part of this was that I had ALL the pieces that I needed for the blocks without having to go to the shops to buy anything else. That will however change when I am ready to do the backing and sashing, etc.
