I did my Visiting Teaching last week on Monday. I went with one of the sisters, for arguments sake lets call her Wendy. She is lovely and is a nurse. We went to visit Sonia (not her real name). She's relatively new to our ward and is such a lovely person also. I had visions of her house being one of those designer types. Really huge, clean and out of a magazine. You know the kind I'm talking about. And guess what! I was right. It was HUGE and so clean I felt bad about leaving my flakes all over her furniture. She didn't worry though.
Now Sonia was telling us about how she has been studying for the past few years and is twelve months away from being a fully qualified naturopath. She had recently done an intensive iridology course but is still earning the ropes. She said it is a great diagnostic tool to have when you are working with clients. Any rate Wendy jokingly said okay check out my eyes to which Sonia did. It was really interesting to hear what she had to say.
Then Sonia checked out mine. I could not believe how she accurately diagnosed a few things just by looking at my eyes. She said that she could see that I need to watch out for sugar, to watch my bone density and that I had a pretty flower shape in my eyes. How cool is that I love flowers. I then told Sonia that I am being monitored for diabetes as I am borderline. She also said that she will write up a special diet that will help me with this and with my P. I'm open minded enough and willing to give anything a try especially now with winter and flare ups will be the common thing for the next few months.
Sonia phoned me yesterday to let me know that she has made up a cream for me and a liquid. She also said that she does NOT want any money from me for it. So I must think of something else to give her to say thank you. She'll give it to me on Sunday after sacrament. She will also give me an explanation of what I need to do with it. She is such a lovely person.
