Thankfully we didn't give up though and we found the RSPCA shelter. They only had a small selection of animals but that was okay. We were determined to get a cat no matter what. We had seen this beautiful black and white shorthaired cat who seemed to be talking to us as we went by his cage. He looked adorable. It said his name was Tiger so we called him and he answered us. We checked out a few of the other cats also and the big fella went back to Tigers cage. He then called us to say hey Mum did you know this cat only has three legs. My heart melted as did Marks. We just knew we had to check him out further. He was so affectionate it was just what we were looking for in a cat.
We had no problems getting him either. The people that worked at the shelter were so happy that Tiger was getting a new home and family. They were thrilled that we were going to keep him as an indoor cat. We just don't want a cat that may get into fights by going outside. Especially Trip because of the fact that he only has three legs. They explained to us that his leg was damaged when he was brought in and hadn't improved so they had to amputate it. The poor baby! But I don't think its affected him at all. He gets around like its still there. He's adapted really well.
Mark chose Trips name .. it's actually short for tripod because tripods have three legs. The boys love it (the name) & Trip!! In fact we ALL do!!
