Watercolour Flowers
I've been playing with my watercolour paints.
I'm not too sure if I actually like these flowers but I think they may grow on me.

Not bad for a bit of fun this afternoon.

Bujo - September Layout
Since spring officially begins in September. It is also my favourite time of year.
To me spring means lots of colours, flowers and fresh, crisp mornings that warm up into beautiful sunny days.
It seemed natural to me to choose a floral theme for next month.

The cover page was something I made in Paint Shop Pro.
The calendar/future log was inspired by a picture I had seen on pinterest. I love how it turned out. I'm thinking I need to get some fixative spray so that I can stop the water coloured pencils from smudging.

Gifts From My Boys
Angus cooked the most amazing roast pork dinner for us last night. It was absolutely delicious. He also made the most scrumptious ice cream made from frozen banana, peanut butter, cocoa powder and milk.
I was also fortunate enough to receive season seven of Call the Midwife.

Brodie bought me some watercolour paints & paper. These paints are much nicer than the palette paint that I already had. In fact I must give the palette ones away.
I played around with the paints on Sunday afternoon.
I was practising my galaxy painting. I love how these turned out.

VIDEO: DIY: Bookmarks & Watercolour Techniques for Beginners
I think I need to try out some of these techniques.
I have so many ideas for my watercolours that I had better start writing them down so I don't forget them!

Bullet Journal - February Spread - 19th to 25th
I absolutely ♥LOVE♥ how I finished my spread for last week. I know it looks quite full but the flowers and the colours really help make the difference. I didn't like the look of all the blank space that was in my January weeklies. I am so glad I decided to doodle some pictures to fill in the spaces.

February Bullet Journal Spread
This is what my February spread looks like.
There were a lot of empty spaces and I couldn't leave them blank.
I decided to fill in the blank spaces with doodles and colour them in with my Derwent water colour pencils.
I am loving my flowers, cats and cacti.
I still have some colouring in to do but I am loving all the colour and the busyness of the pages. It makes me feel like I have actually accomplished something.
All I need to do now is think about what next months spread will look like .. I am thinking of autumn or perhaps St. Patricks day. I haven't decided yet.

New Art Supplies
I have some more washi tape.
I ordered this one from ebay.
![]() |
I quite like the banner/pennants |
I got the paint brushes from Wish.
I got all my art supplies out on Wednesday so I could have a bit of a play with the watercolour paints but I checked something on ancestry.com and ended up losing tack of time. I guess I did a bit of time travelling. I lost around 5 hours searching for info on my parents and grandparents.
Oh well, there's always the weekend to have a play with my watercolours .. hopefully.

Bullet Journal - February Spread
I love how the flowers and leaves turned out on this page! They really do make the page look so much better!
I thought that since February has Valentines day in it I would use red as my theme colour for the month.

Video: PAINT WITH ME: Tropical Flowers Watercolour Tutorial
These flowers look amazing!
They also look a lot better than the ones I created for my January title page in my bullet journal. I guess I need a lot more practise!

Finished Watercolour - Hibiscus Flower
Here's the completed flower that I had been painting. I am very happy with how it turned out. I added some coloured pencil to bring out some of the colour a bit more. Then added a dark green border, mainly so I knew where to cut it out before sticking it in my bullet journal.
After gluing the painting into my book I added some green washi tape. All I need to do now is work out how to add some writing to it without messing it up. I am leaning towards a pencil transfer as it seems like the easiest way to do it.

WIP - Watercolour - Hibiscus Flower
I thought I would have a go at doing some water colour painting. I hadn't really drawn or painted in years. I was inspired by makoccino on youtube. Her work looks wonderful so I thought I would give it a try.
![]() |
It would have been nice if the colours and the names matched up .. oh well. |
I bought a set of watercolour paints on Ebay. They looked okay and had a wide range of colours although I am not sure that the quality is all that good but I guess it's okay for starting out. They arrived in the post on Wednesday.
Not bad for my first go! I am planning on using this as my January cover page. Mainly because it's a hibiscus and they remind me of summer.
I'll be adding some more colour to it. Possibly with coloured pencils just to finish it off and add some more details. I'll post another picture when I'm done. Hopefully the colours might pop and make it look even better.

Bullet Journal - January
I am still learning about bullet journalling and I know it will take me a while to get the hang of things.
![]() |
Since January is Summer here I went with some summer drawings. |
I really disliked the first weeks layout so I didn't take a photo of it to share. In fact it looks so horrible that I was tempted to glue the pages together!! I much prefer the one in the photo below. It's simple but it looks pretty with the hibiscus flower there to offset all the plain boxes and writing.

I covered up some appointments. I need to remember to take photos before I put personal stuff on any of the pages. |
I am very tempted to look in the scrapbooking shops and/or the cheap shops in town (and the next town over from us) to see what stickers they may have. I have found lots online that are specifically designed for planners and bullet journals but I want to check out things locally before purchasing anything. Sometimes it takes a while for things to get here which means I shall need to plan well in advance for some of the stickers. My mind hasn't got around that yet but I'll get there.
- calligraphy
- drawing
- using water colour paints & pencils more effectively
I am sure there will me many more things that I need to add to this list.

A New Thing to Try - Bullet Journalling
I've always been one to write things down. Over the last couple of years I have used what I call my "Book of Everything". It was where I wrote notes, appointments and messages of things that I didn't want to forget. I keep it in my handbag to use instead of writing things on a heap of little pages only to lose them when I needed them.
When I saw a video on youtube on bullet journalling I thought that it seemed like the next logical step to what I was actually doing. The bonus to this was it would be organised instead of all over the place which is what my notebook looks like at the moment.
I bought myself a Moleskin dot point journal on Amazon via the Australian website which went live in December and I thought why not make use of the new way to shop. It's not all that different to ebay and I am used to shopping on that.
I'm not that good at calligraphy (yet) but I am sure with practise I shall be.
I've only done a few set up pages so far but I like how I can be creative if I want to be.
![]() |
The left page looks like a book shelf, right? |
I am using water coloured pencils for the colouring and a Monte marte water brush that I bought at my local discount store.
I've had some fun setting things up so far. I also like how I can add things about me. It's like a diary but it's more than that. And I really dislike just writing pages and pages of journal stuff about me. That's not what I am about.
