Thankful Thursday

I haven't written a thankful Thursday post in such a long time. I thought it was high time I did one considering it's the end of 2018. So here's what I am thankful for

• I have CLEAR skin. My psoriasis is gone. My PASI (Psoriasis Area and Severity Index) score is a BIG fat ZERO. I have not had clear skin since 1982 when I was living in Darwin with my sister and brother in law! So YAY!!! 
• My fingernails are looking fantastic. They too almost look completely normal. The last time they looked normal was also 1982.
• The Clinical Trial I am on has been the best thing for me this year. I needed something positive after my Dad passed away in May.
• My air-conditioner. We've had some awfully hot weather recently and this new split system has been amazing! It is making summer almost bearable!
• My bullet journal - I have loved how creative I have been. Not that I really share much of the stuff I have done in it. I have been happily setting up my 2019 bujo over the past few days.

I know I haven't posted a thankful Thursday for quite some time. Mostly because I have been busy doing things  & I haven't bothered. Considering it's Thanksgiving in the US this week I thought I would list some of the thing I have been thankful for recently.

Here's what I am currently thankful for

• The clinical trial I am on. My skin is looking amazing. My fingernails look almost completely normal. I haven't had normal looking nails since I was a teenager. 
• Blue skies and sunshine!
• Cool, crisp mornings that warm up to lovely sunny afternoons.
• Getting my washing dry in one day!
• Kitty cat snuggles.
• Getting lots of reading time while travelling on the train.
• Having wonderful, caring friends.

Here's what I have been thankful for recently:

• beautiful sunny weather. We have had some amazing days lately. Fresh mornings that warm up in to lovely days.
• getting my washing dry on the same day! Something small to be thankful for but it makes things so much easier when it call all be done in one day.
• the clinical trial that I am on. My skin is looking great. My psoriasis had faded and flattened out so much. It's been wonderful to be able to use less and less moisturiser than I had a few weeks ago. The miracle of modern medicine .. it's such a blessing!!

• my parcel delivery guy - I received a few parcels this week! Yay!
• heaters when the cold wind is blowing

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• my parcel postie! Nearly all of Brodie's items that he requires for his Temple visit have arrived. He only needs a new white shirt and tie
• there has been some lovely sunny days that help lift my spirits. Sunshine can be amazing, especially when it warms you on a cold winters day
• being financially able to purchase (yet another) car as my Holden Vectra, as Mark put it, is no longer as safe as it should be for me. I feel it is fine but he insisted that I get another car. Maybe it is my rose coloured glasses talking but I felt okay driving it. There was only a little water in the oil ...worry wart! And we have had it repaired once already
• receiving more information about the biologic clinical trial for my psoriasis, more on that in tomorrows post

It's been a while since I have done a thankful Thursday post & I do have a lot to be grateful for this month.

Here's what I am thankful for:

• being blessed enough to be able to travel interstate to visit Mark's family
• Mark being able to travel without too many worries with his health
• the helpful staff while flying with both Qantas and Virgin airlines
• family - Mark's family, well they are mine as well, are wonderful and I am so grateful that we were able to stay with them in their homes
• gorgeous weather while we were on holiday
• the boys and how they were able to look after themselves while we were gone
• being able to organise all of Brodie's Temple clothing for when he received his endowment
• being able to purchase some new Temple clothing of my own
• for kitty cat snuggles with C.K. and Missy Issy

I am sure I could add a whole lot more but these are the ones that stand out the most. What are you thankful for this week?

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• Beautiful blue skies
• my heater
• Brodie has begun Temple prep classes. It's getting really exciting!! 
• I picked up our travel info/tickets from the travel agent yesterday. I can't believe Mark & I will be in Perth next week! The weather seems a bit warmer than here.

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• As of today Brodie is celebrating two years seizure free!! I am so happy for him! It's a wonderful feeling to know that it's been such a long time since his last one
• catching up with friends at the Diabetes Support Group
• my heater - it's been pretty cold this week
• sunshine - even though it has been very cold during the day, sunshine seems to make things feel a lot better

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• the sister missionaries were able to join us for dinner last Friday. It was nice getting to know them better and having a few laughs with them. They are such a delight to talk with.
• my sister, Julie, and her husband, Ken, are celebrating their 43rd wedding anniversary today. They are still very much in love and very happy together.
• my heater - it's been a bit on the chilly side, well it is winter after all.

• cold, frosty mornings that turn into lovely sunny days
• my heater - even though we have had some sunny days they haven't always been warm
• family
• being blessed enough to receive some money from Dad's estate
• finally being able to organise a trip for Mark and I to see his Mum. He's not seen her is 20 years!

Here's what I am thankful for this week (well this month really):

• visiting with family I hadn't seen in years
• being able to celebrate Dad's life and learning new things about him that were a pleasant surprise
• travelling home safely 
• arriving home - there really is no place like it!
• seeing my BFF Mish. It was so nice to see her last week. I hadn't realised how much I have missed her. I love her to pieces!! 
• Brodie - he was my rock when we were in Adelaide. He helped me more than he realised
• my bed Zzzzzz

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• having friends in our Church that are willing to bend over backwards to help us out when we really need it
• receiving a blessing and things just improve so much afterwards
• having friends that care about your well being
• being able to find the money you need to pay for plane and train tickets so you don't need to ask your sisters to help, although they did offer to.
• for finding a place to stay in Adelaide so that Brodie and I can attend Dads funeral

• Loud smoke detectors, garden hoses, hubby & quick responding CFA (Country Fire Authority)
• That there was no damage to my home from the fire next door
• Getting my car back from the mechanic! Woohoo! I have my wheels back!!

• My flu shot - yes I know it's an odd thing to be thankful for but I am

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• learning patience - I have had to exercise my patience these past few weeks especially since I have been without my car. Also I had to frog some of my knitting and I patiently unravelled a few rows without wanting to just rip the stitches off of the needle.
• cooler weather
• family history - I have managed to find some wonderful stories on ancestry about some of my relatives. It's great to learn more about how they lived and where they lived
• for insurance companies that honour their warranty/policies - they will be paying the maximum amount possible towards getting my car back on the road and for this I am truly grateful

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• blue skies and sunshine
• my knitting (yep I am still knitting not crocheting) it's helping to keep me sane and I love how I am able to knit a reasonable amount of rows now without my hands aching. It's wonderful!! I feel very productive!
• Enjoying some 'Girl" time with two of the sisters from Church. It was nice to be out and not be surrounded by testosterone! 
• pedestal fans - I don't particularly like humid weather and the breeze a fan creates can make all the difference

• that we have a second car to use - it looks like the head gasket has gone in mine & the car has gone to the mechanic

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• Rain! We've had a pretty long dry spell lately and we have had some lovely soaking rain last weekend.
• Knitting! Very therapeutic when you are doing plain stocking stitch.
• A cheeky cat who likes sneaking under the bed covers even when he knows he isn't supposed to.
• Netflix - there's some pretty good shows available to watch. I have way too many in my to watch list and not enough time to watch them all ☺

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• The pretty colours of the autumn leaves. The leaves have been starting to turn for a little while now and they are looking so colourful! 
• Cooler weather
• Fresh cool mornings that end up with beautiful sunny afternoons
• kitty cat snuggles
• knit & natter groups - I was finally able to go to a group last Friday. It's not a big group but it was nice to get out of the house for a bit to do something I haven't done in a while
• connecting with family via Ancestry DNA

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

• Family history! I have been getting stuck in to finding out more about my family tree. Some of the stories I have managed to find might make your hair stand on end. It's no wonder my family never really spoke about each other much! At least it's interesting reading!
• Mild weather - It's been lovely but I am missing the sunshine and blue skies though
• chocolate - it speaks for itself (~_o) 
• Kitty cat snuggles - they are just the best
