Thankful Thursday

Here's what I am thankful for this week:
  • being reminded that it's not just my family who loves and cares about me. I forget that sometimes especially when I am not having a good day. Thank you Bishop, Dani, Jess, Bea, Judy, Gwen, Margaret and Viviana
  • for a GP who actually listens to me
  • managing to find the energy to do things when all I want to do is laze about and sleep/rest
  • finally getting an appointment to see a dietitian. I have been on a waiting list for such a long time and my appointment is later this morning. I seriously have so many issues with food that I may even need more help than they can provide *sigh*
  • Missy Issy and how she is very cheeky when I am eating and tries to see if I am willing to share what I have with her. She wins 90% of the time
  • Cool changes and rain. We've had a couple of warm to hot days recently followed by cool changes that drop the temperature by half. I love cooler weather!

What are you thankful for this week?

New Maccas

The new McDonalds is coming along nicely.
It's about a 10 minute walk from our home.
Looks like I will be able to go for a walk to get breakfast in a month or so. I think it's meant to open in December but I am not sure when exactly.

Addicted to Yarn?

I added to my yarn stash this week.
I am totally not addicted to yarn! Okay, well maybe I am.

I got this lot from the Wangaratta Woollen Mill's online stop called Mill Shop.
All this yarn only cost $16 dollars. I just LOVE a bargain!
Sorry but they only post within Australia.

Thankful Thursday

Here's what I am thankful for this week:
  • being able to spend some time chatting and relaxing with the ladies and gents from the Diabetes Support Group. We had lunch out at the Kings Arms in Neerim South. It was a lovely afternoon.
  • ordering more yarn online ... I am not addicted honest! I just need it for my stash. Better to buy yarn than junk food, right?
  • realising that I may have a problem with food. I hate to say it but there are days where I get scared to eat because I am afraid I wont stop eating once I start. It's such a horrible scary feeling.
  • my husband .. I know he loves me. He tells me every day. I just can't work out why.

Finished Crochet Item - Princess and Daisy Blanket

I handed over this pretty blanket to Lise on Sunday. She absolutely loved it and would also like me to make another blanket for her. This time for her daughter-in-law. However, they don't know what sex this new baby will be. Lise would like a gender specific one and will let me know somewhere down the track what she would like.

Before joining

I think this blanket turned out pretty well. Don't you?

All done!

The pattern for the daisy and the princess came from Knot Your Nana's Crochet. The Daisy appliqué can be found HERE on Ravelry and the Princess appliqué can be found HERE on Ravelry.

Now to work out my next project.

Better Late Than Never

Here's what I am thankful for this week:

  • steeping on the scales and being lighter than I was the week before. In total since I was diagnosed with Diabetes in 2011 I have now lost a total of 28 kg (61.72 lb). 6 kilos (13.22 lb) in the last 5 weeks.
  • friends from Church that care enough to check on me when they noticed I wasn't having a great day last Sunday
  • my Home Teachers who came to visit on Thursday and shared a very appropriate message with us
  • going back to the exercise group run by the exercise physiologist. We had a break because he was doing a course.
  • my aches and pains - it means that I am alive even though I hate feeling the way I do

What are you thankful for this week?

I Miss You Mum.

It's been 15 years since we lost you Mum. I think of you every day. There have been many times I wish that I could pick up the phone and have just one more chat with you. There is so much I want to share with you. I bet that you are probably rolling your eyes at the antics we get up to and the situations we find ourselves in. I miss you so much. ♥

Weekly Fitbit Stats: 2 Nov 2015 - 8 Nov 2015

Look at that Best Day! 13,503 steps. I doubt I will ever get that high again!
When looking at the stats of my friends who have fitbits mine is nowhere near as impressive as theirs. That being said, my fitness has improved a great deal since August when I received my fitbit from Mark.

Drum Roll please .... With the calorie counting & the walking that I am doing I have managed to lose 5 kg (11 lb) in one month. So that makes up for me not walking as many steps as the others. I believe that I am doing pretty well. After all 35.86 km (22.28 miles) walking in one week is great in my books!

I have a couple of new Doctor Who toys.
I got them out of one of those toy dispensers, like the gum ball machines, where you put in some money and turn the dial so that the toy comes down a chute.

Brodie was very lucky and got a K-9 toy. I was hoping to get that one myself. Maybe next time..

WIP - Crochet - Princess & Daisy Baby Blanket

I've been working on my latest project on and off this past week.
Usually at night when I can manage to stay awake while watching TV.

I have one more pink flower to finish and then I shall be making a princess appliqué.
I have absolutely no idea what colour to use for the border and for joining the squares together.
Lise wants soft colours for a baby girl but I honestly have the urge to use a bright colour. Since it isn't for me I need to do as requested. What colours would you use?

Thankful Thursday

Here's what I am thankful for this week:
  • reaching my personal best with my walking
  • that the weather was nice enough earlier this week to be able to spent time outdoors
  • for Mark returning home safely from his camping trip
  • for the boys and I being able to spend time together
  • for lots of snuggles with the furbabies
  • that Missy Issy and C.K. seem to be getting a long a bit better. They have even been playing together. C.K. even instigated the play.

What are you thankful for this week?

Weekly Fitbit Stats 26 Oct 2015 - 1 Nov 2015

Personal Best

I finally did it. I made it over 8 km (5 miles) in one day.
That was my step count just before I went to bed last night. I did manage to get it a little higher than that but not by much more. I think it was 13,503.

I am certainly feeling it this morning though. My left hip, which was sore yesterday, still hurts now as does my right knee (it has osteoarthritis). Oh well. But it sure feels good to know I can do that much walking. Over the past two days I have made over 25,000 steps. It's no wonder I feel sore now.
I believe that today will be a rest day.

Our Morning Walk

Brodie and I got back a short time ago from a walk we did this morning. Boy was it a BIG walk for us. We went on a different route than we normally do. Mainly because I wanted to see some other pretty gardens in our neighbourhood and I wanted to take some photos of the flowers that I saw.

I can't get over how many steps I did!! Or how far I walked!

Gosh these flowers look amazing!!

I have no idea what these ones are but they are so pretty!!!!
