How To Crochet An I-Cord

I was checking my Google+ feed when I came across a post with a video on how to crochet an i-cord by Sharon Ojala. I had never made one before, not even in knitting but I had seen a video on how to knit one. 

There have been times when I thought that they would come in handy for making straps for beanies or even large button loops. So I thought I would give it a go.

Here's how my first ever try at an i-cord went. I do have a helpful tip though. Make sure that you are using a yarn that doesn't split easily. It makes placing the stitches back on the hook a bit of a nightmare if it does. Oh and try not to make the stitches too loose or the i-cord will look uneven like mine does.
