Friends

Brodie brought a friend home from school yesterday. He was very unsure as to what they should do once they were both inside. He hasn't really played 'host' that often in fact he stated "I don't know what to do I haven't brought a friend home before."

I didn't know whether to be sad or happy for him. Sad that he hasn't had many friends over at all or happy that one actually made the effort to come and visit.

I can't tell you how much this changed Brodie's outlook for the day. He seemed so much happier than he had been for a very long time. It must have taken a lot out of him though. Having to concentrate for so long on how to be a host, what sort of things to do to entertain themselves & trying to be his rascally self. By the end of the night Brodie had a massive headache & went to bed early. At least he had a good day :)

  1. Let Brodie know, sometimes being a good friend does give you a massive headache!! ^_^ But that means you're putting in the effort. YAY for friends!!! (And I LOVE the photo you chose!)

  3. I find my girls always exhausted after having visitors over, even a short visit. They are much younger so it is still okay for me to prompt and join in with play. Although I do try very hard to prepare the girls before hand and then sit on the sidelines and leave them too it.

  4. You are right Marita it is easier when they are younger to join in the play.

To be honest it was a new experience for all of us because it happens so rarely. So it was no surprise that Brodie was wiped out that night.
