Mark saw a commercial on TV about the Art of Crochet. Its a series of issues with tips & tricks on how to crochet. He said I should get it. How cool is that? He is enabling me and my obsession with knitting & crocheting!
Hopefully this will help me learn how to read patterns properly and maybe I'll be able to make things other than granny squares & beanies.
Angus was a real cutie & went into the newsagent for me this morning & picked up the first issue. I'll definitely be checking it out later.
How great! I could have used this MANY years ago when I was looking at crochet magazines showing me pictures of how to hold my yarn, how to understand abbreviations, and how to make doilies! It was a slow process...but I stuck with it, and now I know how to do all that...and then some! ^_^ How great that issues are out there like this for people! I hope you're making other things besides granny squares soon! ^_^ (Although making a good granny square is an art all it's own!)
ReplyDeleteI've watched the DVD that comes with this issue. It explains everything from how to hold the yarn & the hook to what stitches you use and even the importance of making sure you have an even tension.
ReplyDeleteI truly recommend this for beginners. I've managed to make my first square for my throw that's part of each issue.
