Golly I should've given an update on my Dad. I finally managed to talk with him on Friday of last week.. third time was lucky! He sounded fine and was in fairly high spirits considering he was in hospital.
The doctors said that they wanted him off the warfarin which wouldn't have helped him with the bleeding as it prevents him from clotting properly. Anyway he wont be on it for much longer in fact I think he is off it now. He goes in for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks time just to check things out and be on the safe side.
I spoke with him again last night and he sounded pretty good. He's complaining of a bit of a head cold though. He said his new air conditioner was making get the sniffles. The silly sausage has had the temperature control set for 20C. I flipped and told him that it needs to be on 26C which is room temperature. It's no wonder he was complaining about how cold he was feeling while it was on. Maybe I should tell him that having the temp set so low would use more electricity and he will turn it up.
I am just grateful that he has an air-con as the weather in Adelaide has been worse than they have been here. They have had such horrible temperatures .. reaching up to around 47C, in fact it was 48C in Kyancutta the other day. I'll just keep phoning Dad on a regular basis to make sure that he is looking after himself.
